St. Joseph College started under Devnish. The church got the land from old maid sisters. We used to call it Devnish school. Left in 19 69.

Especially nice video. I also lived in St. Joseph, opposite WASA. I attended St. Jo. R.C from standard 3 and passed Common Entrance in 68 to QRC. Around Chritmas 610 Radio would sometime broadcast parang from the Boys R.C. school. Go to the hill for mango, occasional, caimite, chinese, tambran, and regular tambran. The St. Jo. river had pool where you could bathe. Not now. I had the train service experience until it was decommissioned around 69/70. Very sad. Some say shortsighted. I have not been there in ages.

Gosh.. Brought back so many memories!! I used to drive on this road every year for a 3weeks, from 1990 to around 2005. It all looks the same I can identify all the places.. The only thing that has changed is the road!! it is no longer full of potholes!! I will have to share my videos from then:)

What strikes my Canadianized eye after 30 years here is how many of the homes have big, ugly and expensive fences surrounding them. I would say about 90% of them have these monster fences, the concrete ones according to one of my cousins costing him $100,000. When I compare that to the street where I live in Toronto now, I would say about 3 of the 100 plus houses on it have Trinidad style fences. In other words 3% compared to 90%. I wouldn't care to elaborate on all round burglar proofing except to say that neither on my street nor anywhere else in Toronto have I seen a single building with that burglar proofing on every door and window. Home safety must be really bad.
