@@michaelkoch9421 Contreras had 7 years with the Cubs and averaged playing in 102 games a year which includes pinch hitting roles. Why should Cards fans be shocked when his appearances as a Cardinal average 104 games (including pinching hitting appearances). We went through this experience with another 5 year 80 plus million dollar contract with Fowler. Why are we repeating it??? Our front office doesn’t seem to learn from their mistakes…

I’m all for getting JWalk outta RF, he played 3B in the minors. Or Gorman to 3B but having Walker in RF is just crazy. And I’d keep Sonny and ship Mikolas to whoever will have him. I cannot watch him pitch, can’t do it. Great work, JD, excellent stuff, sir.

You trade Ryan now because he's in a walk year and you jewed him a couple seasons ago in arbitration over a million dollars. And odds are significantly high that when a player loses arbitration with their team they don't stay longterm as in they're not or he's not doing anything for this team but becoming a FA after 2025. Since he will be a FA his value goes down the longer you keep him

Munoz makes sense as an experiment for the bullpen. He needs a second pitch. Try Contreras at first and see how he does. If he does well then his value goes way up. Revisit trade at deadline. Aranado trade. Helsley trade. Keep gray for the stability. If the young guys do well then revisit at deadline. Trade fedde as well.

I thought Herrera is in AFL, before he goes to DR to play for Pujols. I hope he gets some work at 1B under Pujol's eye, to be ready for a position change with the Cardinals at Spring Training. Thomas, you don't wait until next year to trade Nootbaar, he just had a "resurgence" in the latter part of this season. With his track record, he could easily get hurt again before the All-Star break next year. Then what? His trade value today is the best I see it may ever be, so ..... Move him NOW.

Trade Contreras no question you would not want to be on a team with young guys not saying that he wouldn’t be a good leader to them, but I think he deserves a chance to win certain he is about to be in his mid 30s

I do not vote for trading any of these top players, although Contreras is first in my mind to move if anyone goes. Getting rid of the most capable players is NOT the way to rebuild a team. The front office is lying to fans again, if that's their story now about what "reset" means. The Cardinal front office needs to come clean, and tell fans that it's necessary to cut the payroll because of lost revenue from radio and TV deals, if that's the real reason. If it's not, then you rebuild by drafting better players first, and second by astute movement of Minor league players in concert with other teams also interested in their own rebuilds. Talent can be blocked from getting up to the MLB level, and that's the place to start Minor league trade discussions with other teams.

31:00 In - Mikolas? Honestly, given the last 2 seasons I have ZERO Confidence in putting him in the rotation. But making WAY TOO MUCH to simply Drop. ONLY role that makes sense is for hiim to be the RH Long Relief a'la Liberatore in the LH Long Relief. As crazy as it sounds would build his trade value even in that role compared to what we've seen the last 2 seasons. Then Trade before the Deadline or Cut halfway through the season. Best fans in Baseball..Yes. Most non-connected ownership group is the problem. Looking and hoping for lightning in a bottle to carry a team is pretty much a dipshit move that the Cardinals have been dying with year to year. I have been a Cardinal fan since the 70's so I saw Whitey ball, all of Tony Larussa ect... So I have a right to denounce this ownership group and the plethora of bad decisions that they have allowed to happen under Mozeliak. If this team is to be fixed, all those that have been making decisions have to go that will be the only thing that will make a difference. You don't need to get rid of players, players don't make the atmosphere, leadership does and they just don't have leadership they have a micro managing dictatorship. No player can relax and play at their best in this environment.
