That one has a better climb rate than the quad engine like 747 and a340

Remember this route was flown using a B747-400 for many years... It was very impressive to see the 4-engine 747 arrive at the airport over the ocean, fly very low over the beach, and land. And also to see it take off from that short runway and immediately make a sharp turn to avoid the mountains.

The reconstruction on terminal; has just started and expected to last 2 years but some parts will be open by end of next year. At least this is a new timeline for now unless something else will go wrong.

St Martin/Sint Marteen is a most beautiful island! I visited there in 2017! I was anxious to visit maho beach which was famous for the jet blast! Unfortunately I was still on vacation, when it was devastated by category 5 hurricane 🌀Irma and had to be evacuated to curaçao for my flight back to London!

07:25 The airplane can make a safe takeoff performance to Amsterdam from SXM. This route (AMS-SXM-AMS) has been flown with a 747 and a A330. The rotation changes sometimes from AMS-SXM-CUR-AMS to AMS-SXM-AMS. Between SXM-CUR KLM does not have traffic rights. Tis is only for the pax in SXM.

The B747 had to do a refuel stop in Guadeloupe because, in order to take off with a so short runway, it had to embark just a very little quantity of fuel. I guess the same happens to every long-haul aircraft like A330, A340 or B777. Maybe the Dreamliner B787 could do the direct route, but I don't know honestly.

@@eulero75 No, the A340 was going back non-stop to Paris but the MD-11 and B747 did a refueling stop on one of the ABC islands. Now the A330 from AF goes back without stop to Paris, too

I was going with KLM back in the MD-11 via Bonaire. How is Saint Maarten now after it was hit by the hurricane? It is all build up again?

Sure. Keep using it for home purposes, but adapt to world standards in international settings. That's a reasonable formula, in contrast to your continued anglo-autistic folly. Especially if you don't learn foreign languages yourselves and depend on others for communication
