Isn't 😁 no stain glass window of St. Maurice, whose statute is outside of a ⛪️ built in medieval Germany ?

Why is the name pronounced "Morris" ?

Many foreign named cities and communities are altered in the natural course of things with the local vernacular... Milan... (My-lan) Versailles (Ver-SALES), etc... It's not uncommon...

@@Shewwler Right. There's a town in Ohio named Genoa. And the natives pronounce it as "Gen-OH-a," rather than the way Italians would say it: "GEN-oh-a.." Also, on the front of the school was engraved "St. Mauritius," so it's easy to see how that was altered to sound something like "St. Morris."
