The annual St. Paddy's Day Parade in San Diego--it's tradition! Community leaders, Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, The Irish Brigade, Irish dancers, The Shriners, all come together to celebrate St. Patrick, the one who drove snakes out of Ireland. The parade is always a great time followed by a party in Balboa Park. Corned beef and cabbage is a must--and of course--green beer! It's the largest parade west of the Mississippi. The first parade and festival was in 1980. The Irish Congress of Southern California sponsors the event. Our own Irish reporter Doug McAllister was there to capture all the wonderful moments.
