Suni is not just a member of the Hmong community, but she also represents all that is great about Minnesota and what can be achieved here in this awesome state. Many shout outs to her gym! We sent not one but TWO olympic gymnasts to the games!!!

Minnesota isn't great. I'm Asian and I was born and raised in Minneapolis and I was viciously bullied in school because of my race. The Minneapolis city government doesn't care about non-white neighborhoods and communities. As long as it its grouped together (in ghettos) away from white neighborhoods they don't care about how bad things get e.g. they turn a blind eye towards gangs, crime, and violence (especially North Minneapolis).

So proud of her. The heart of a champion. Gold class parents raised a gold Olympic champion. Well deserved! People focused on Biles so much but neglected the fact that Suni overcame so many mental and physical obstacles for her journey to the Olympics. These humble refugee beat all odds to overcome their disadvantages in society . They work hard and teach value to their kids to be successful! They are are the inconvenient minority who dismiss the CRT!

Love all this Hmong-American stuff. She's an American. Never lived anywhere else has she? If she was of Swedish descent, would everyone be complimenting her heritage? Enough with the hyphens.

As an American of Hmong descent, Soldier and combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, I totally agree. I didn't put my life on the line to become a hyphenated "American." I say this as a a lifelong friend of Suni's family. Very proud of this ALL-AMERICAN star.
@keats52073 жыл бұрын
Only when it fits the narrative. In reality a lot see us as “asian” or “immigrant”. Plus we are proud of our heritage and what our parents/grandparents sacrificed in Vietnam to get us here. Nationality and ethnicity can be represented in tandem. And yes if she was Swede and wanted to represent that she can.

Hmong American it stands out just like African american etc 😎
@hmoobmeeka3 жыл бұрын
From my experience, white Americans will say we are all Americans when it fits their narrative. When it doesn't fit white Americans narrative, they'll say things like: all asians look the same, we are immigrants, where are you from, go back to your country
