That is so true. We know of absolute collusion between the safety and inspection inspectors colluding with homeowners to discriminate and drive people out, on very minor offences at the most, yet the more serious offenders, get off on everything. They are VERY prejudiced. I know of one Safety and Inspections officer in St Paul : "J.T." , who takes his hate out on every women or disabled person. It is not a fair or decent system. The city knows this and allows it. If you are a homeowner but they don't like your "looks" they will punish you. No fairness. Its all about favoritism, discrimination and money. No level playing field with Saint Paul. Its a racket with the homeless camps and big money is being made.

I worked at Holiday on East 7th right after quaranteen. I asked homeless people daily why there were homeless and what were their stories. Number 3 top answers . Tiger an addict. They have warrants etc. They don't want the government to run their lives. #1 story. Bad childhood/family trauma. Was really sad to see

yes, its propaganda. homeless means you are without a house. unhoused means that you have not been placed in a house. "you will own nothing and be happy, trust us and we will house you, feed you, love you. "

I’m happy, I was worried something happened. I occasionally visited this camp to give them blankets and supplies and today went out to do the same when I saw they were up and gone. I immediately feared the worst then saw this video. Here’s hoping they’re finally getting the help they so desperately need.

It is nice. The homeless can prey on a different community. I am tired of them stealing. Yes, I have seen them steal with my own eyes multiple times. I hope they will choose to change to some sort of life that is positive.

Sure blame the blue. But I distinctly remember Republicans like Norm Coleman and Tim Pawlenty and independents like Jesse Ventura who did absolute shit for the homeless too. Its a nationwide issue on both red and blue states. How many shelters/low income places have been built for homeless in the last 20 years in Saint Paul? 1. Higher Grounds. How many 100k+ Condominiums have been built? At least a dozen. Years ago when the RNC rolled through town at the Xcel Energy Center, what did they do about the homeless shelter across the street? They put up big black barriers on the fence, so the Republicans could easily ignore the problem. They don't give a rats ass any more than Democrats do.

You're not wrong about that. Groceries and gas have been ridiculous for the past 4 years. People suffered a lot, and that's why all the swing states went red. Edit: I'm a registered Democrat, btw

@SyuYaaj dunno where you live but here in Saint Paul, gas prices have fluctuated MAYBE $0.60 the last 4 years. Right now I'm paying roughly $1 more per gallon than I was paying 25 years ago. In the last year, the gas station by my house has fluctuated maybe $0.30 between $2.99-3.29

We like him or not, dude changed the republican party to a whole nother level that we had never seen before. Maybe if Safety and Inspections didn't put so many people on the street there wouldn't be so many homeless people freezing outside. Look carefully and follow the money. Corrupt city officials collude with landlords and homeowners to put people, often low income renters from numerous demographics, out in the cold and are actively fueling the homeless epidemic. I've been talking to a lot of people and no surprise-Safety and Inspections deemed their previous rental unit "unfit" and boot these poor people to the curb literally.

When it was Dorothy day, they threw your ass out on the streets at 6:30 am, unless the ACTUAL temperature was below 0° WITHOUT windchill. Wouldn't let you back in till 9am. Now that it's higher ground, to get a room, they take all your money and foodstamps to stay there. Keeping you locked into their programs. Theres no housing program beyond HUD, which can take YEARS, there's no job programs, nothing. They've built no low income housing, what was available has now been condemned, and yet they got lots of money to build Condominiums on nearly every street corner
