This city is legendary!!! I have been to so many beautiful cities like Vienna, Prague and Budapest but St. Petersburg really charmed me the most!! Of course it depends on what you like, but SP has so much beautiful palaces and churches that looks so golden, royal and colourful. Also, I love the idea of the main street (Nevsky Prospekt), it has beautiful buildings and it is so easy to walk around, eat and do some shopping! Russian food is affordable and delicious, and most restaurant waiters speak enough English to understand your orders and the people are very friendly in general! Missing this place already! Hope that more people will visit and see Russia for themselves and realize Russians are actually nice people, all the world politics out there are only creating divides between people that shouldn't exist! I’ve been to st petersburg and oh boy is it beautiful! It has one of the most beautiful canal systems in the world. It’s well connected to most parts of the city. It’s so picturesque that you would almost never have to find a good spot for pictures. The structures there are so European and opulent. Nevsky Prospekt is yet another wonderful street to just walk by. I loved my stay there. Wish to go back soon.

The city is even more beautiful than shown in the video. Before going there, I thought it cannot be that beautiful, but oh man, it is amazing, the white nights festivals are great, the people are friendly, they do not speak English though. Both Moscow and Petersburg are very safe, we walked around both cities at night and no one even looked at us, let alone bother us.

Jenny Custovic I also was in Moscow a year ago. I didn’t expect it will be so interesting. As for me.. the main sight is the Red Square and I like it in winter time the most, it is decorated like in fairytale. Moscow is a big capital city for work and business, but has its own rich history and charm. Saint-Petersburg is more aesthetic and “imperial”. That’s why we call it “cultural capital of Russia”. Anyway, it is both the main cities in tourist list for someone who wants to visit Russia, especially in the first time.

I visited Leningrad as it was then in 1974 in the snow of December. The feeling throughout the entire period was AWE. Most of these lovely buildings suffered in the bombing and siege of the second world war and have been rebuilt refurbished from the original plans. It is a city of great wonder and beautiful as shown in the Summer video nothing compares to seeing the sun on the roofs of these buildings glittering gold and the wonderful colours of the facades.

I just came back from the city! Autumn season is great too, there's lesser tourists and the parks are beautiful because of the orange and yellow trees. Only problem is that it is pretty cold and cloudy, and it rains quite a bit as well

I visited St Petersburg when I was 13 and the gardens of the Summer Palace have been stuck in my mind ever since. I would go back simply just to see those gardens again. I don't remember much else of what we saw, I think i took a lot of it for granted, can remember my brother and I complaining "not another church". I must go back one day.

I visited there in 1989 ( Oct ) ... just before the wall came down in Berlin. Was Leningrad then .. full of History and memorable .. people just wanted to talk to you - impressive place .

Wonderful video, all the scenes are vary familiar for me since I moved here 16 years ago from California and love it. It is the only large city I could probably live in, with distinctive neighborhoods, wide streets and human scaled buildings in the city center where I live. It has unmatched access to the arts, with drama, music, ballet, ballet, jazz, every day for all, regardless of income or status. There are probably more world class museums than any other city anywhere. It is easy going, social and fun, and with the ruble weak right now, it is a bargain. Summer can get very crowded in museums and palaces but the fall combines great weather with few crowded. Spring can be wet but is also nice. The pace is slower and more friendly than Moscow, another great city. Moscow is not unfriendly, it is much easier to meet locals than say NYC Paris or London but just not as friendly and easy going as St Petersburg. For visitors, St Petersburg is one of the few large cities tht feels small and human scale and almost impossible to get lost. There are so many visually distinctive landmarks that can be seen from many vantage points that anyone can instantly orient themselves in relation to those landmarks from anywhere in the city center. I started a tour operator business so host many visitors every summer and increasingly in the winter. Based on that experience I suggest avoiding June 15-July 15 which seem to be the most intense crowds in the key attractions like the Hermitage and Catherine Palace. Even in peak summer periods, there are so many interesting museums that one can find less promoted ones which will have few visitors. Most visitors want to do the same 8-10 activities so those are very crowded but right next door would be museums and palaces that have no or few visitors each day, so explore and try some of the less promoted destinations

Но будьте осторожны с началом июня - в это время бывает,что погода становится холоднее
