leo Guatani You can live in English, but you’ll be missing out on the rich Québécois culture, and outside of the Montréal region, it’s a question mark if you’ll be able to have a conversation in English. Anyway it’s always better to learn a new language because it grows the IQ a bit, opens a new, massive horizon (cultural) and you’ll be able to interact with a lot more people. You’re very welcomed here sir! :)
@123benny47 жыл бұрын
I've been living in Quebec for 23 years now, and in Montreal for 20.
@josecarranza75556 жыл бұрын
Why is French even speaking in Canada? I thought Canada was an English country.
@darkmagic12776 жыл бұрын
Leo Guatani, in all fairness, if you are going to live in Montreal, you should at least learn basic French which means more than just saying hello and goodbye. However, many people get by speaking only English and some very basic French. Can you get a job speaking only English? Yes, you can, but only manufacturing jobs, warehouse jobs, or jobs that have you deal with international English speaking companies. I was born and raised in Montreal and still live here and Montréal is one of the most pluralistic and accepting cities in the world. Racism exists, but it is mostly "quiet" racism and mostly comes from low-income, uneducated individuals, just like in every other country in the world. Montreal is a multi-cultural city and it is one of the cities in the world where you will be able to mingle with many different cultures without being judged. The comments I have read about Montreal being racist and unwelcoming are incorrect. Hope you enjoy it if you do decide to come. Good luck.

COME AND SEE US IN MONTREAL, QUEBEC. Satan once asked me if God would go to Hell as a human. God made me answer: I did. +++ I am not God though, far from being God. Jesus' granma was named Anne, his mother, Marie, his father, Joseph, his apostles, Jean, Pierre, Simon. etc Israel has a white and blue flag and is among foreign nations. French Québec has a white and blue flag and is among English nations. I am a quebéquois. Read on you will be truly astonished. Alif Laam Meem is Isa, son of God. Alif Laam Râ are daughters and sons of God. These 6 letters were only known to God as eisher aisher eisher was: Jesus Christ (eisher) - Mohammed (the last messenger) (aisher) - Alif Laam Meem (eisher). What is the soul ? Electromagnetic brain flux dematerialises our brains into mind. When we sleep our minds are more detached from our bodies and we are more engaged in the Spirit World where death and Time do not exist. In your dreams you cannot dream about death and have no knowledge of time. Time doesn't exist in the Sacred World. We came from the state of non-being called death, so yes there is life after it: We are in one of these lives and will go from lives that will be eaiser and easier till we reach the paradise of all paradises, place where the multiuniverse came from which is the Great Concious Void, a subtil quatum flux. This is why it is said that the beginning of beginnings is like the end of ends. Now let us ask ourselves: Are we looking at the universe or is the universe that created us looking at itself through us ? We are created in it's image as sentient beings. God i the universe. Here is the full quote of love one another: One can have disease, be victim of a hurricane, flood, etc why bedrudge our sister or brother ? Life is short so in all due respect sufferance is partially an illusion. God is essenially the 7 Paradises. Love one another. I am 3 mysterious letters of the Quoran, Alif Laam Meem. Come and see us in Montréal.

@Luvie19808 жыл бұрын
72vince27 Because some places are very toxic. Montreal to me is a charming city not like some other places I have visited and I love the people there. My advice to everyone is to:travel.
@Luvie19808 жыл бұрын
Saro M Why do you feel surprised? Why is it so surprising for an individual to feel free to be themselves in a city? Do you travel? And I mean really travel, travel the world? I have lived in Paris, Berlin, Melbourne, and I felt free to be myself in those cities then I did when I was visiting my grandparents in the southern state of the US.
@72vince278 жыл бұрын
Luvie1980 Oh there ya go. I always hear bad things about the South. I hoped you were gonna go a little more in depth with your story. It seemed like an interesting statement.
@Luvie19808 жыл бұрын
72vince27 If you are a person of color then the south is very scary. And with the things that are going on now, it's even worse. But I am not going to go into depth about it, I want you to visit that area, because I am sure that my experience is much different then your experience will be. All I can say is that I did not feel safe there, and the environment was very toxic and depressing. The only place I liked about the south was Austin, San Antonio, and the desert in TX; New Orleans, and some parts of Florida. But I have no desire to go back nor live there unless I was being paid a huge amount of money.

Visiting Montreal is like going to Europe without the hassles and exorbitant costs. Despite the fact, French is the primary language used in Montreal, anyone whose mother tongue is English, will have no problems communicating with anyone in Montreal. Montreal is a very bilingual city. Adding to that, there are many areas in Montreal where Italian or Chinese or Portuguese or a host of other languages are dominant.

The bagels are great! Just please don't come to Montreal and go straight to a Tim Horton's.

Pretty sure Quebec City is more francophone in terms of big cities. Also I've lived here for 20 years and I never heard about this bagel lol

You summarized this magical place very well in cinq minutes. I just love the town, and all thexFrench culture that surrounds it. You would be hard-pressed to find better food in North America - from croissants to bagels with lox to smoked meat sandwiches at Schwarz' deli on St Laurent, to fancy rack of lamb in Vieux Montreal. The jet boats on the Rapides are amazing, too. So much to explore. I was there for Expo '67 and the Summer Olympics in 1976, and several times since. It is a slice of Europe sans the flight. Embrace the French culture and the friendly people!
