St. Vincent's most recent ALL BORN SCREAMING album is one of the very best records of 2024. It demands that you listen! Thanks for posting.

Did they actually put guitar sounds in it? In this live performance they seem to have forgotten them entirely

I love the "fuck it, let the synth do it. Hand me that tambourine" energy from you bassist.
@StrangeBadgerКүн бұрын
I think there's a midi synth bass loop, triggered and mixed by one of them, then Charlotte Kemp Muhl pops-in with the fretless bass guitar to funk it the fuck up
@hempmaidenКүн бұрын
Yes seems a shame that not much bass is being played!

I've been there. There's a synth bass on one song. Tombourine time!

Definitely top of the crop, currently. Glad there are still artists like St. Vincent out there making interesting and engaging music and featuring guitar playing. I love her subtle but effective style of integrating guitar meaningfully into her music in forward thinking ways. Been a fan for years and still loving her output!
@MaxArchКүн бұрын
there tons out there just not mainstream..
@PeteOlivaКүн бұрын
@@MaxArch I was mostly meaning as a mainstream artist. Indie scene has everything. But she's doing it mainstream and that's definitely worth highlighting.

WHAT has happened to her?! What is this, some kind of Prince ripoff, but with zero creativity? It's weak and anemic. I double dare you to go to the 4AD sessions and watch 'Surgeon' (when she was playing with an extraordinary band) and not see how she has nosedived and is utterly grasping as an artist (that she once very much was). The big problem is that today's dumbed-down and programmed audiences don't know the difference. This is horrifying.
