You can more easily glue baste the edges of stabilizer with Elmer's Glue & set it securely with a hot iron. Elmer's glue all holds up just as well as stitches and rinses out with water after the project is done. It also will NOT gum up your needles.

I just made my own wash away stabilizer, search on youtube diy bio plastic, its a gelatin and glycerin recipe and its easy, worked perfectly, rinsed out in less than 30 seconds, i also use paper towel as a stabilizer i separate it down to 1 or 2 ply then throw it in the wash afterwards, the cheaper the towel the easier it is to wash off ive noticed, i hope everyone can save some money using these tricks, stabilizing materials are too expensive and too much waste, hope this will help someone xx Nadine
