I have the XC I have been shooting in USPSA competition. The comp puts me in the highest division, the open division with the race guns. My XL will be delivered to my FFL tomorrow and I have to wait another 10 days here in the People's Rupublic of Washington, (a cooling off period to buy a gun, I have waited 3 months for). The XL will put me into Limited optics where I might have a chance with a production gun. I used my CS for an IDPA competition. Too small, great concealed carry gun though.

Love my XC! Only change I made was I replaced the factory 7 lb recoil spring with a 10 lb Wolf recoil spring. Did this to increase the reliability even more for when it gets really dirty and because I carry it.

Staccatos are awesome but I wouldn’t edc a fire arm that expensive. If you ever have to use it in a self defense situation they always confiscate your firearm for evidence and don’t always give it back.

@@Gloccato I’m not concerned about having to replace my pistol if I ever have time use it for self defense. I’ll simply buy another one and if it’s no longer available I’ll buy another one I like. Everyone’s financial situation is different. You may be assuming replacing the pistol is an issue. Not in my case. However, to your point. If someone is concerned about having to replace their pistol from a monetary and/or sentimental value they absolutely should not EDC the pistol. 👍🏾

@@CXC300 A great point. I am very comfortable with it and I’m also 6 foot 6 inches tall with huge hands. The pistol fits like a glove. In fact, one day at the range one of the staff said to me I’m the only guy they’ve ever seen that makes that pistol looks small. lol 😂. Carry whatever pistol you like as long as you can be comfortable and safe with it. I agree 100 percent. I’ve been carrying it for about 3 years or so now.

Nice looking gun. Not sure it is that much better than the regular XL that I have. I do like the island barrel tbough. Not sure why so many negative comments regarding price. This gun is still cheap compared to some 2011s. Nature of the beast with 2011s. Staccatos aren't the top 2011s but they aren't as bad as some are claiming. Fit and finish on XL and XC is actually very good. If anyone visits the factory they will see that there is time put into each gun and they aren't just aimlessly massed produced with little attention to detail. Some people will always find something to complain about. If the gun is too expensive for you, don't buy it, buy something else.

I don't get people complaining about the prices of these guns. Like I get Staccato isn't even remotely close to top of the game for 1911 and 2011 guns out there (Your best performance will be Alchemy Custom Weaponry, your best looks will be SVI Infinity, your best blend of both is likely Atlas Gunworks or Nighthawk Customs), but if anyone took even a video tour of their manufacturing facility you'd understand why the price is high (though as a gunsmith I find a gun with barrel fitment issues and a poorly finished trigger with a gritty pull for a 1911 abhorrent but this is also the cheapest long slide 2011 you'll find and Staccato knows it). Tl;dr, this gun is not for the person looking for a duty-use, battle ready gun. This is the Porsche of 1911s. Glocks are the Honda Civic. A Honda and a Porsche will both get you from point A to point B just the Porsche looks better doing it and it feels better and performs better. That all said, it also comes with its own unique maintenance procedure, it doesn't like dirt, and 2011 magazines are notoriously plagued with feed and function issues despite costing upwards of 100 bucks a pop (blame STI in the 90s for rushing Tripp's development of the mag and never letting him finish only so they could release a product that would appease investors)

I haven't shot them side by side, so I'd like to take my STI DVC 3-gun pistol and run it next to the XC, which a local range has as a rental. Now if I could just get them to stock Federal Syntech competition ammo, it would be perfect. Update: I shot 50 rounds of Federal Syntec through my DVC and their XL. I got my DVC direct from STI for 2700 dollars, as I had a 10% discount code. The new XL is 3700 dollars. The rental has a Trijicon SRO on it, my DVC has irons. I have shot red dot pistols before, so not a newb with regards to that. Fit and finish on the STI was better than the XL. I realize that the XL is a high round count, but my STI is sitting at almost 28k rounds through it. Accuracy was better with the STI, and felt recoil was less but that is probably due to the optic. I'm going to try again and see if they'll let me remove the optic for another round.

I'm sure it is a great gun and being from TX, good for them. I saw a couple 2011s with higher price tags at the NRA Expo this past weekend. I mean sure, if you got the disposable cash and like shooting bling at the range. I'll stick with my P365XL and my Dagger fore EDC. My next handgun will probably be the Girsan MC P35 PI LW. I saw that too and really liked it. It will be my cheap Stacato C clone :)
