There is a plastic part on threader that has a tiny metal peice that if it’s bent you won’t be able to thread this machine. Replacement part is under 10 bucks. Watch Juki junkies they have a video on this. Easy to replace. I bought 2 cuz I know it can get bent easy and who needs the frustration.

I’ve been researching all the specs on the TL series, and I was trying to decide if 25-ish pounds qualifies as “heavy,” so I looked up the weight of my bernina, which I definitely consider heavy, and I learned, that thing weighs 33 pounds 😮! And I used to carry that machine in its case on one shoulder and my 17 pound dog in his case the other shoulder around New York semi-frequently! I think the juki will feel remarkably portable 😅. Thank you for making this video! I’m always very appreciative of people who share their thoughts after having owned a machine long enough to really get to know it.

When I bought my Juki at the Houston Quilt Festival a few years ago, I admit, I'd never heard of the brand. I bought the TL-18QVP and I'm still impressed with the power this baby has! I was told by several people at the show and since, that the TL model is a workhorse. I've started making bags and pouches and I just love it. I still use my electronic machine for quilt piecing, but the TL is my go-to for the bulkier projects. There is a KZbin channel called Juki Junkies and they have a lot of good information. Excellent video. Thank you. One thing however that really annoyed me. I was cleaning my Juki one day, and the foot plate fell on the floor. The plate that bends. Anyway the tiny screws (can't remember if it was one or two) that hold it together fell off and the plate came apart. I have never seen a screw so small. Thank goodness Juki junkies had a how to video on changing your foot plate or I never would've been able to put it back together. You would think on such a expensive machine they could've at least used a larger screw so you could actually see it. So just be careful with that plate when you're cleaning your machine!

After I’ve wound my bobbin and have it in the case it’s very loose so when I turn it on the side to put into the machine it often falls out of the bobbin case. Is it supposed to be that loose? Thanks for the video it was quite informative.
@staceyleecreative7 ай бұрын
Hi, no it’s not. If anything you want it to be firm like a spool of thread. I think you must be not wrapping it around the tension disc.

The autothreader on my TL-98 worked perfectly every single time On the TL-2010, I got it to work just one time. Once. I replaced it, adjusted it, still no go😩 But I won't trade my TL for any other machine!

Oh no! I don’t know why you are having trouble with the threader

Oh no! I know Juki junkies unscrew it before sending the machines out for this reason. I would contact the dealer you purchased it from.

My Babylock Quilters Choice Professional is identical to the Juki TL. I can drop the feed dogs for fmq. Are they the same machine?
@staceyleecreative7 ай бұрын
Hi, no they are not. TLs have been around for years and are semi industrial.

Hi, could you link to the 1/8 inch left compensating foot that you showed for binding. You said 1/8 inch but I only can find one 16th. Thank you.

I would luv t know how u clean the Juki .
@carolfuller29418 ай бұрын
I clean mine regularly when I change the needle and oil the machine, remove the plate and bobbin trace, clean with a brush and swap before oiling.

I should do a video on just that! Thanks for the idea ❤

I love my Juki but not the foot control. The thread cutter seems to engage at the most inopportune times, mostly when I am doing free-motion work.
@staceyleecreative8 ай бұрын
Oh, you can buy a piece to attach to it to turn it off 🤗
@andreagrimes97218 ай бұрын
@@staceyleecreative I tried it and it doesn't work. Then I ordered a dual foot control. One pedal operates the speed and the other operates the thread cutter. Still waiting on delivery.
@staceyleecreative8 ай бұрын
@@andreagrimes9721 Oh that doesn't seem right. It's just a little piece of plastic you attach that stops that cutter working. Perhaps it was faulty.

My auto threader seldom works. Most of the time I just thread it manually. Other than that I love this machine.

Buy a TOWA tension guage. Set the correct tension on your bobbin. Then any tension issues will only be in the top tension.

@staceyleecreative5 ай бұрын
Hi I am sorry I don't know why that is happening, I have never had that problem. But please contact the dealer where you bought your machine so they can help you work it out.

Hi. Sorry, you told me nothing new. I’m a new juki 2010 owner. However here are 2 things no one has mentioned: 1. Oil your machine when yu get it wth one drop in oil holes. You don’t know how long your machine wasjust sitting. This made a difference especially on the botton housing under the stitch plate. 2. Thread your first bobbin point coming from frnt to back. Some video demos don’t use that hole. 2a. Thread all three holes on the front bar if you are rxperiencing some tension issues. It’s the bar right off the top of the machine to the left of the long thread slot. The three hole bar to the left of the word juki. Suggestion. The machine has more holes than need to be oiled. I used nail polish to mark the inside of the depression of the holes that need oil.my color is pink. I started sewing 66yrs ago on a Singer treddal. This juki feels old fashion to me. I like its weight and simplicity. Bought it off the internet never tried before hand. Not disappointed. It’sadded to my “stable” of sewin, embroidery, sergers…

The thing I HATE about the Juki is the foot pedal that invariably cuts my thread when I don't want it to. The black thingee that is supposed to stop that doesn't seem to work for me. I have cut thread with it on and off.
@staceyleecreativeАй бұрын
Oh no! I would contact your local dealer and tell them that the switch stopper isn't working for you. I mean that's what it does, so sounds like there is a problem.
@infopubs8 ай бұрын
When it's working correctly, the needle threader is great. It is fairly delicate, though, so if it stops working well for you, you might need to replace it. Fortunately, it's an inexpensive part. Order yourself a new little piece and get that needle threader working again!
