I just started to stack about 6 months ago. My next generation is young. 6 and 7. I started with them. They came to the coin shop with me on my first visit. They save up to buy their own silver coins. They even have a few oz they like to pull out and look at. I’ve even had conversations about how silver and gold is real money. I think the best way is to not only educate but share the passion. My kids write letters for my LCS owner and are as excited to see him as I am. After each visit, they are excited to see what I got. They don’t really know what the money of it means yet so as I teach them about money and how to save and spend, precious metals will be a part of it. As far as your point on the next generation blowing on a holiday, I think that shows more about how a parent taught their child about money. But it could easily be in a will that the coins could be not sold or only sold for say property, a car or large purchases. Maybe even a clause saying they must add to the stack for a year or two before selling any of it. That way they will fully understand the value and have a decent relationship with an LCS.

when you die... your kids will cash it in and blow the money... generational wealth is a lie. studies indicate that 70% of generational wealth is gone on the 2nd generation an 90% of them gone by the 3rd
@davidlewis983 ай бұрын
I started stacking in 2019 as a way to “hide” wealth. In the UK the local authorities can request that you sell your property to fund your social care if you require it. Therefore the majority of your wealth along with a good chunk of your cash savings will disappear. Whereas if you have acquired a gold stack the coins can be sold at your discretion when needed in old age without the authorities knowing. I only stack sovereigns and Britannias due to CGT concerns and this may be born true when the next budget happens 😓
@jkly4953 ай бұрын
well thought out as saving isn't an easy task and why should the authorities take it as you have sacrifices to save what you can. i will be doing the same

It's a difficult hobby and investment because as much as you'd love to tell everyone and encourage them, you also can't tell anyone due to security risks. Some people i know have all gotten into bullion on our own accord, but we also never talk about it and we have no idea how much each of us have. 🤫 According to Michael from Bullion now, he's seeing alot of customers under 40, where as when he was younger, there was only old men into bullion. It seemed like sound money skipped most boomers because they were banned from owning it for most of their life.
@ulexite-tv3 ай бұрын
As a member of the Baby Boom generation, i will say that most of us got into silver during the time when the transition was being made from silver coinage to crap-metal coinage. We pulled silver out of pocket change and stacked it. Buying gold was beyond the reach of many of us during those years, because all of the gold was numismatic -- but as gold bullion coins became available, we started stacking gold. Silver will always carry the thrill of my youth (especially, as an American, Mercury dimes and Morgan dollars), but modern bullion gold coins carry more value per fiat dollar spent.

If you had enough gold, you could put it into an offshore trust, for nominated family members, with a moderate payout over time or a yield after a certain age had been reached.

It's a coincidence that you have made this video. I am a brand new sovereign staker. When I say stack, I mean a small pile.😂 I have been thinking for a while now about future wealth creation opportunities as it seems to me the rich are getting obscenely rich, and the rest of us are being squeezed from every angle. I reckon my grandchildren will not be able to buy their own homes. So, as the older generation, we have a duty to keep the wealth we have and pass this on to the next generation. This is the main reason I have started to collect.

Your kids are not going to care about your gold. You sacrificed to save that ... and they will likely just cash it in and pay their credit cards off, take some holidays and buy a car. Poof. Gone. They didn't have your financial discipline to build a stack, and so they will blow right through it. If you don't ever intend to spend the wealth you protected for so long, you are just collecting shiny stuff like a magpie and ruining your current quality of life whilst you are at it.
@SovereignSaurus3 ай бұрын
It's quite possible they would yes but I'm gradually building the stack over time so it isn't hurting my lifestyle. There is likely a few stackers amongst us who will make sacrifices only for it not to be realised by them or their family in future
