Stadler FLIRTs on the Redlands Arrow

The Metrolink Redlands Arrow started running in late 2022 over the former ATSF Redlands Branch, which had seen a slow decline in freight customers in the preceding decades, and was mostly out of service by the time the commuter line was proposed. Running between San Bernardino Downtown and Redlands University, the line is serviced by Stadler FLIRT DMUs, while also seeing regular Metrolink trains in the morning and evening rush.

The frequency on these lines need to be atleast 15 minutes to get higher ridership. But this won't be possible in the future due to the refueling times with H² and Diesel...

I think a lot of money is going down the rabbit hole with these FLIRTs, a bus can do these tasks for much cheaper. Btw, great photography at dusk...must be using your Sony A7

Agree to disagree. Trains are better for the environment and are better at attracting ridership.

Buses are Not interesting compared to this and they also are slower and get stuck in the same traffic!
