Katharine Hepburn, Eve Arden, Lucille Ball. They were not even 25 years old at the time of this picture. Now to look back at them they were legends in the making....

Lucille Ball was 26; Eve Arden, 28; and Katharine Hepburn was 30 in 1937. All were very young, of course , but had been toiling around Hollywood for a minute by the time this movie was filmed. Hepburn had already won the first of her four Academy Awards for Best Actress by this time. Along with Ginger Rogers and Ann Miller, who also appeared in this film, they certainly proved to have great staying power in a tough business and were, indeed, legends in the making by this point. By the way, Miller was, astonishingly, a mere 14 years old in this film.

Constance Collier is fantastic. I could watch her for hours. Lucille Ball is at the height of her game as far as looks go, beautiful.

The part when she said "No! Go right ahead! I won't be taking my sleeping pill tonight" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Now I know what's the best shade to throw if I have no choice but to listen to something boring 😂

Even though there's nothing in common in terms of subject matter, whenever I see this utterly delightful film, the author I always think of is Jane Austen. WHAT an Elizabeth Bennett Hepburn would have made!

Eve Arden. The best delivery. I think Bea Arthur took notes on Miss Arden.

(The conversation pertained to sitting around & doing nothing) Hepburn's character says, "Well my grandfather didn't (sit around) & if he and a lot of others hadn't crossed the country in a covered wagon there still be Indians living in Wichita.

I love Stage Door, but every time Terry said that I was like, "Honey, no! That's not something to be proud of! Your grandfather was a colonizer! 😬" I did, however, take pleasure in watching her check Mr. Powell and his creepy behavior 😊

Thank goodness that grandfather didn't sit around in Wichita. It'd be so boring today.
