My favorite way to travel 💕. As a single mom, getting to travel to distant places is extremely difficult. These videos are the next best thing to actually going. Thanks for posting them!

Another trip down Memory Lane! I lived in Montrose as a young lad and recall the High Street very well. At the stop on this video at 1h 17m, the coach pulls in at the bus stop, bujt that is all a far change from 1965. The buses then pulled in about 100 yards further up the street, between the Statue and the grand civic looking building, completing a U-turn and ended up facing out onto the street; no kerbed bays, just painted bays on the ground. Health 'n' Safety would have a fit these days with that format! The High Street is still the same! Thanks again for this great video.

I like how the road between Arbroath & Dundee runs parallel with the ECML.

Nice to see another bus trip in Scotland.👏👍😊 If you want a route or 2 in Fife. There's service that goes from Kirkcaldy to Anstruther along the coast, it's sometimes served by a double decker. Or you may want to take the Dunfermline to Leven 7 or 7A service which is often a double decker & runs regularly during the day via Kirkcaldy.

An extra bus journey you may want to try sometime is the 73 service. It goes between Arbroath & Dundee, but unlike the X7 service it calls in at wee towns like Carnoustie, Monfeith and Broughty Ferry. Good chance it would be a double decker. If you were able to get a sunny day then it would be all the better. You do really well with many of your videos.

Just for those who perhaps weren't aware, at 1:47 after having come away from Arbroath bus station, gone under the bridge and taken the road to the left there's a lengthy tailback due to some traffic lights but if you look to your left what you will see is the East Coast mainline that runs directly from Aberdeen to Dundee, Edinburgh Waverley, Newcastle Central, York and on down to London King's Cross station. I believe some LNER trains still travel up to Aberdeen but only really about it third of the frequency that used to. The other 66% now terminate their service at Edinburgh Waverley. To be honest I think it's a sad sign of the times and I can only hope that they are reinstated at some time in the future. However Scotrail run a decent service from Edinburgh to Aberdeen via Dundee.

Absolutely lovely day for a bus journey down from Aberdeen. Stonehaven I have been through before, always looks deserted. Montrose, and the Montrose Bay. I really like Arbroath though a very nice looking town, less than 20 miles from Dundee.

Dundee's Seagate Bus Station isn't as big as some people might think with just the 7 stances. But it's a similar situation at the railway station with only 4 platforms. Odd when you consider the rich history of Scotland's fourth largest city.

Love the videos; some of the roads? Glad I'm not driving down those narrow lanes. But, I would like to see a train along the way every so often...

Could we get a drivers view as well? If they allow it. Like we want to see the driver handling the route as well.

What boneshakers these Plaxton Elites are, I used to do this route on the Aberdeen to London Victoria back in the eighties driving Leyland Duple coaches,they were far smoother and quieter than this coach in the video!
@iainjones50023 жыл бұрын
Before them, Northern Scottish had a few of the Alexander MType coaches on that run, which like the Eastern (Bristols), Western (Bristols, latterly Volvo), and Fife (Leyland) examples, they'd hardly a rattle.
