@@vrindasugandhi1646 it’s a reference to how in fiction the greater the number of enemies you face, the easier it is to kill loads of them, but when you face one enemy, even if he’s the same as the group, because it’s just one guy he’s much harder to kill - if 100 ninjas attack an enemy they will be shown as dying in droves, but if just one ninja attacks the same position he will be able to dodge all bullets. Aeon Flux is playing with this idea in this video by regularly swapping the numbers of enemies back and forth, to the point it becomes noticeable and distracting.

I actually kind of love the sound design of the weapons. It feels almost deliberately light, unsatisfying, anticlimactic even. It's like it reinforces the theme that as easily as one person can cut down dozens, they too can be slain unceremoniously and without warning.
@cerumen27 күн бұрын
@@mooncrime4998 I love this interpretation! I wish I could say it was so deliberate. They do a similar thing in video game sfx - the player’s weapons are made to sound more dramatic than enemy fire, etc. - could’ve exploited that when the protagonist swaps! Sadly in this case it was just very hard to create impactful 100%-from-scratch sfx for something this mad when I’d never done foley, sfx design or writing an original score before. Nice to know it produced unintentionally appropriate results though!

With the decline of traditional hand drawn animation and cell art, it really pains me knowing that the effort and time and sweat in tears won't go into another show that will ever be quite like this one was. I know most anime traditionally was grueling and unfathomably torturous to make. I know that a lot of people will never know the lengths that people went to to get a show out, but I have so much respect for the people that had the vision in the raw push to keep going so that stories and shows like this could be made.
