I remember being in highschool, waiting for the school bus home. And and listening to this as snow fell hard. That moment has linger with me for a long time.

This song has always been for the fans. No doubt about it. It's a great song. It truly is. It's not about love and loss. It's a reply to his fans for everything they've done for them. We do stand out in the rain. Waiting for them to show. We do everything for these guys. We help their creativity. We pay their bills, the whole nine yards. :D So yes. It's always about the fans this song is.

Here I am, sobbing my eyes out, having a hell of a time trying to type this, while all of my inner turmoil, all the people I’ve hurt, all the relationship I was only halfway in, because I was scared of myself… scared of commitment… scared that my heart would get shattered again… To anyone who may need to hear this, hang on to those small little moments that give you a reason to live, not the many other moments that prove life isn’t worth living. I know you understand my pain. Because I understand yours.

I have seen Too many sad eyes look at me The eyes that set me free All the places that I've been So thank you for The letters that you thought you wrote in vain And for The times you chose to stand out in the rain And wait For me For me Your words Your words help me to see A little honesty In a world that doesn't share And your eyes Tell the story of your pain Severity of your disdain In a world that doesn't care So thank you for The letters that you thought you wrote in vain And for The times you chose to stand out in the rain And wait We We understand my pain From this I gather strength In that we are the same So thank you for The letters that you thought you wrote in vain And for The times you chose to stand out in the rain And wait The life I live will never be the same without you here You here You here Without you here

I hate spotify for not having this exact song, they only have the original fast paced version. This song speaks to me so much
@michaelappleby90935 жыл бұрын
It's the same song. And the one off the main album was actually not the original cut. This one is. This one didn't make it due to it not being "heavy" or "faster paced" enough for Staind fans. Me personally, I like this one over the main album cut. But they both speak the same way.
@ssjTeXas3 жыл бұрын
@@michaelappleby9093 Yes, I know it's the same song. I literally wrote "fast paced version." I did not know this was the original though. I like their slower songs, Lewis voice was too good to make only fast paced songs. The Illusion of Progress was their best album imo.

Hmmm it's...interesting. Aaron sounds sooo different, and the whole song sounds like it's made by some other band, it's simply doesn't sound like Staind, which isn't a really big problem after all. The album version had a simple, but very nice guitar riff, this version gets a bit boring after 2-3 minutes without it, it reminds me of Linkin Park's My December somehow. It was good to listen to it once so thank you for uploading it, but if I had to choose I'd definitely pick the album version.
