You're doing incredible! Thank you so much for posting these things. I feel like you keep selling yourself extremely short, which is super admirable; but please be sure to remember give yourself credit for what you've done!

I LOVE sacred geometry and I'm sure I'll explore some more designs in the future. Sacred geometry dream catchers, what do you guys think?
@heartfuldesigns4you5 жыл бұрын
I love sacred geometry too! Stained glass mandalas could be amazing. This is so delicate and beautiful and love the dream catcher element. Great idea to change out the feathers. I must say too that I love how the city is part of your videos and love the artistic details like showing that labrynth in the background. Really educational and beautiful! A great combo.

What does this mean? Does it have a special meaning other than a dream catcher? This is so awesome, I love it and you did a beautiful job! What does a feather mean? Sorry, I don't understand but I would very much appreciate the meaning of both. Big fan and sub from Washington State 😃 🌲🌲🌲

Man, what a dude. Just imagine it: he rides up to the home improvement store clad in leather, smiles at the ladies perusing the lighting and hardware sections, grabs his brass rods, and thanks the lady at the exit warmly. He slips the supplies into his backpack, slides his helmet over his head, mounts his bike, but before he kicks off, a bewildered woman runs up to him from inside the store. “Sir, sir! Please, you have to tell me: who are you? What are those rods for?” The leather clad, bike riding, gauge wearing mystery man looks up at her in surprise. He chuckles warmly before responding “ *It’s for my stain glass project* . It’s a beautiful opalite dream catcher. I hope one day you get to see it.” With that he snaps his visor shut, kicks his stand up, gives her a gentle wave, then speeds out of the parking lot. It’s been 15 years, and Maggie still can’t forget the stain glass biker she met at Home Depot.

I'm enjoying your videos to refresh my skills. With the dream catcher, it would have helped to see you soldering the sides in real time. The little triangles are so close together,, I'm wondering if there are any tricks to getting that soldering smooth without gloppy solder. And, it would be helpful to actually see the copper foil on these small pieces...it's so wide relative to the size of the pieces. So, slow down a bit, if you really want to be helping beginners! Thanks!

My question is when do you use lead came and when do you use the foil? Is it just a matter of preference or are there rules for using the lead came vs foil and solder.
@StainedGlassDIY6 жыл бұрын
I do believe it is mostly preference until you get to bigger pieces where the lead came adds strength structurally. Now I've only done copper foil and believe it's easier to start with. Lead came gives you cleaner lines but you still have to solder the joints. Copper foil allows you to work with smaller pieces as the foil is thinner. It's almost two separate styles and techniques. I do want to try leading soon though. Cheers 🤙

My 3ft brass rod is to short to wrap around the 12in diameter dream catcher. There is about 2in gap.

Thanks your Video. i always enjoy yours. I tried to cut the glass with hand cutter but it is not easy. So i have plan to buy cutter mate.( kind of cutter tools).how do you think about it?
@StainedGlassDIY6 жыл бұрын
Have you tried a pistol grip cutter? They might be more comfortable and easier to use. I've never used a cutter's mate but looks like it helps keep the angle constant.
@StainedGlassDIY6 жыл бұрын
I would try different types of hand cutters first since they're cheaper, then go for the cutter's mate. I hope you find something that works for you and let me know how it works out! 😃
