Thank you Dan. I was losing money by taking lots of small losses (on large position sizes) and being greedy holding out for the big move which most of the time worked out in the longer timescale but because my stops were so close due to my large position size I would get stopped out all the time. At least now I can break even while waiting for the larger move to work out.

Either way, thanks precious, i ll keep coming back to this until it clicks. ☺️🍀🌼🙏🏻🌸😍🤓👍🏻🎣

Great video, Dan. Thank you. When a stock is in an uptrend, I use a clean stair step down in its retracement, to gage the likelihood of a reversal when it hits support. Question.... When we are in a strong uptrend and a stock start a series of higher lows, why couldn't we jump on one of those candles and set the stop below the previous candle? We could just walk our stop up every day and climb those steps until we put in a lower high.
@ChartGuys3 жыл бұрын
You could, but we would need to be in a clear breakout or with some kind of news catalyst for me to like the R/R
@roblaskowski10303 жыл бұрын
@@ChartGuys That makes sense. You talked about a blue sky breakout in the video. Thanks again!

Hi Dan, that was a great video ... I really enjoyed it. There is another risk management strategy that I am just learning ... it goes like this ... between the entry and the stop loss point, hedge the potential loss by taking the opposite position in a correlated asset (e.g. long LTC short BTC). Possible to reduce risk => increase R/R. Also possible to increase position size while respecting A/C risk mgmt. I wonder if you have worked with this and have any tips for how to practice it? thanks again

Love this strategy. Can I ask when you say to have a stop loss immediately, was it a target you have in your mind or was it a stop loss order entered immediately upon the entry? Thanks Dan!

Place the stop loss, too many opportunities for a lack of discipline otherwise

Funny as i was betting on e-sports matches this was a good strategy. I told myself that eventually every wining-streak can only go on for so long (best was 10+ games won).
@gary57992 жыл бұрын
just starting to look into this strategy, first thing thats just become aparant is swithching through time frames i can find more or less consecutive candles, like its maybe 4 on the 15min but 8 on the 3min, its interesting to me now looking through time frames looking for consecutive candles with higher low or high

Hello Dan. Would you use fibs to put sell orders on the way out of the position ( once you’re already in risk free trade)- in case you need to walk away from comp or sleep. And if yes- how far you would set them- for case of conservative trader personality?
@ChartGuys3 жыл бұрын
I do not use fibs as targets, I prefer the EMAs

I did some backtesting and found few cases where it worked, and the setups were quite rare. Also, how is an overnight hold risk-free? Do you have guaranteed stop losses? If not, price can gap past your stop, e.g. an announcement of a take-over or a terrorist attack.
@himynameisandyb3 жыл бұрын
He mentioned in the video that it wouldn't be risk free if he held overnight because of the gap risk. Watch again

Thanks Dan i love your education. 1 question if anyone knows when Dan refers to the pattern of a HL each candle is Dan talking about the whole candle including the wick or is he talking about the body only? When I read price action I include the whole candle including the wick so i wonder if this effects the strategy in any way...? thanks
@justinprince13733 жыл бұрын
Entire candle including wicks.
