Hey man, I’ve been playing guitar and bass since 1968. That puts me in the range of 60 years old. I have studied music theory and do read music. just saw your video from the old channel and I completely understand your position and thoughts. With that said, I have learned many songs from your channel and I think you are a fine instructor and want to thank you for all your efforts. We can all learn from each other! Peace, Greg Nice job on Stairway!

l am very proud to say that l used to follow your pt videos and learnt an awful lot from them, and l am just as pleased to say that l am 59 yors old and whilst l'll never be a Clapton just like you l just love love playing the instrument, allow me to thank you for all your help and keep it up and enjoy playing that's all that it is all about, and by the way your a very good guitarist. As l said l am 59 and have been playing for about 5 years and your help has been immense, thank you and keep it up for idiots like me :)

I just love when you come to a chord that's either unusual, atypical, or just plain weird, you hold up the fingerboard to the camera for a close up view, so wannabes like me can see exactly how you're fingering the chord. Just great, and very much appreciated. Thanks!!

This is a great example of how I use your channel to help my grandson learn music, new songs and how to learn how to learn songs, in general. Best of success with your new channel. I hope it renews your passion. You've given many of us a great foundation to learn & play and most of all.. ENJOY music. Thank you for that. Remembering back several years ago, when I started following your (old) channel, I couldn't learn on my own. I memorized and repeated. You have helped me personally learn how to learn. And now, as you know, I'm playing out in a cover band. Thanks for helping me do that. My grandson is coming along well with his learning and we use your material to help him. I know that you are considering taking down the PT channel and I respect whatever decision you make regarding that. I would ask you, with all due respect, to please keep the PT channel up. It's an encyclopedia of knowledge that will be invaluable to future generations. You gave a lot of people a gift. I'd love to that continue to benefit kids, young & old, going forward. Remember the video of Brad & I playing "When the Levee Breaks"? I'd like to think that there are others out there who would have as much fun doing that, as we did. Keep the music alive, man. Again, all the best with your new channel, -steve

Just found this one in 2021. Nice that you call out the notes on the fingerboard, easy to nail down. You make this song comprehensive to understand and you play it so fluid and musically. Whew, no filler just right to it.

James, this is a fabulous lesson, perhaps my very favorite of yours. Just yesterday I was playing along with several of your AC/DC lessons, so this is quite a change. This morning I came across your final Privatetricker video, and I wanted to respond. I played guitar when I was a youngster, then stopped playing for 42 years. You were one of the first instructors that I discovered when I started playing again. You have helped me learn so much, and rediscovering the guitar has brought a lot of joy into my life. So I thank you very much. Needless to say, there was nothing like KZbin when I was growing up and learning to play. I don't think that your younger viewers quite understand what a valuable resource you are. Thank you for being so generous with your time. I, for one, am quite grateful.

Hi James Been watching and learning from you for many years now. You taught me over the hills and far away. You teach from a very patient and direct approach. This was a great lesson I'm one third of the way there. Doing these lessons takes a lot of time so you must love giving. Your time and effort is much appreciated keep it up. It's pretty cold here in central Canada right now so loving this time to learn . Thank you very much All the best to you in these strange times. Kal

PT, it's great to have you continue sharing your lessons, knowledge and personal time and commitment with all of us. That whole You Tube debacle was so petty and senseless, utterly unbelievable. I, personally, would like to extend my gratitude for all that you do. It's quite obvious that it comes form the heart and your love of music, 'cause, you don't have to do this. I don't know what part of the world you call home, but if I were ever in that vicinity, it would be a fantastic experience to walk up to you, look you in the eye, shake your hand and say thank you! Just keep on being you, and the world will be a better place for all us. Many thanks again.

I started listening to you because your voice remind me of a comedian I knew & I played guitar so I checked in every so often . You have an amazing ear . I I can Imagine you hear a song on the radio and you can hear the cords & open strings that are playing. It’s like learning a language. Phase by phase than sentences to, so on…you bring a lot happiness to ppl that can learn these songs and appreciate the music. Learning about p 90’s , and different guitars , history facts , different versions I can go on & on . I appreciate you & all you do my friend.

Hey James, hope all is good for you and thr cheese and kisses in "retirement"! Hope you got yourselves anoth "Sid"! As a 65 year old i took up guitar with the express aim of playing "The Greatest" complete and well on my 70th birthday! Not there yet, but this really makes the journey clear! Even bought a good cheap leftie Double Neck for the job! Of course it's getting fully rebuilt, now all i need is to be able to play it. Actually, i have a Crafter SAT that can split the piezo and P90 pups to 2 amps, and it sounds bloody grouse for Stairway! So thank you for your part in making an old bugger's dream come true!

Thank you for all the great tips, and playing notes. I think you're AWESOME, and stand out from most teachers on here! Just watched your last video on other site. James I am with you so much in every word your said. I play by ear and enjoy a good session of playing around the neck to find that sound. Any guitarist of a popular band will say take from my music what you feel I don't need guitar crones of me in this world. Just have fun playing and singing it. It honors me all the same. Opinions mean nothing to me, just a fun and happiness I get owning and playing guitar. An jerk once called me a campfire player cause I don't pull off or diminish the string within the D chord. I told him great I'll out another log on the campfire and keep going. Peace be with you.

Hello James, I just clicked on your last video as PT, and that was posted a year ago, Where have I been. In short I would like to say I don't blame you for switching over too J.J. I have always enjoyed your videos and truly respect your guitar sensibility and tonal ear.Yes KZbin has changed like everything, but more so it's society that is forever changing and unfortunately being less understanding and respectful. Just do whatever it is you want that is in your heart, and is enjoyable to you. I just wanted to thank you for all the time you have put in from the very beginning and producing these videos. " I Get It." All the best with your endeavors in life. "If you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need". Take care, Ross Scaffidi.

Hey J.J. like the other subscriber I just watched your final P.T. video and was shocked that people are that critical of someone like yourself who has been so inspirational to me, and generous with your time and knowledge...Just want to say I appreciate you... Im a bit older... 54 and I usually search for a lesson for any specific song that Im interested in for anybody with information.... you have always gotten me further along the path so I appreciate anybody willing to help me... I have a day job and will probably never gig out but I have a few buddies that jam together on the weekends for good clean fun.... That being said Im always interested in learning more about amps, guitars, effects, and how to get certain sounds... Love the old stones stuff.... you nail that pretty good... and I don't care about being perfect either... just want to find a pocket and keep the groove going... peace out brother!

Just watched you "last video". Had to watch it to the end as I thought we had lost you. Glad to hear that's not (quite) the case! I know exactly what you mean about the moronic and negative comments but never forget that most people know and realise what you are doing and why you are doing it. We appreciate it. We must never let the cretins of this world wear us down as that is just what they want. They are nothing, do nothing, and achieve even less. They are not even worth responding to. I understand your new approach, but you still have to suffer to moronic comments, albeit in private. Just remember that you have a huge following of people that appreciate you and your work and ignore anyone that doesn't get what you do. Just remember that they are a tiny part of one percent that just get off on being a moron. Keep up the good work, I've followed you for years and hope to continue for a long time to come. Best wishes from the UK!! By the way, I suppose that is your face? Never seen it before!!
