As someone who has been playing for a year and a half and was able to learn this in just a few minutes. This was a GREAT tutorial and in depth explanation to anyone who's new to guitar or would take them a bit of time to learn this. Great video!!!!

I played guitar a LOT for 20 years. Then a 35 year hiatus (yeah yeah, I'm old now). So I'm relearning how to play. This was one of my favorite songs to play. This was my favorite section. Just relearning this last week.

Why am I getting muted when I record with an original led zeppelin copy and they tell me It has something to do with copy right laws.Everyone Is doing It but they stop me everytime I share one. Thanks Dave. And thanks for sharing your knowledge in the guitar.Youre a great teacher

I’ve played that for years. However, try playing with the record. I’m convinced that JP uses alternate tuning on the 12-string for the interlude. That’s largely why he needs the two-neck guitar. Go ahead: Try playing open Am7 with the record. Yes, JP uses Am7 voicing, but actually uses different chords. You’ll find yourself using bar chords to keep up w JP. But you NEED Am7 voicing for it to sound right. I invite comments. I wrote about this two years ago, but nobody responded.

I’m pretty sure Page uses alt tuning on the 12-string for that section. He uses Am7 voicing but the first chord, to me, is another chord. The problem, though, could have been mine, as I was just sliding Am7 to the 7th, then 5th fret., etc. In the end, I used bar chords, which sounded in tune w the record, but were sadly lacking the Am7 shape. I tried it your way, with the record, and it certainly sounded better. But at my age neither my ears or fingers are what they used to be. I tried the solo on acoustic. That was a joke. Like it makes me wonder if I should have sold my ‘63 Strat.
