Jamie Vincent I believe this is from the ARMs concert and he came out of seclusion to help out Ronnie Lane and had been dormant for some time, I suggest fans check it out, I've owned it since it came out, EC opened it up followed by Steve Windwood than Beck as Jeff walked off the crowd cheered than it exploded as Page walked out and went on to do stuff from Death Wish not his best performance but dam good considering, side note Stevie sang on the fly reading the lyrics off the floor at points, I like the concert and thought the all did pretty good, seeing the best England has to offer jamming together was pretty cool, that was 83 .

Note and tone perfect, amazing. He used to work at Licorice Pizza, a record store (round black vinyl, get it?), with another guy, both with Rod Stewart rooster haircuts, somewhere in Woodland Hills on Topanga Blvd., I think. I've got to see page play a few times over the years. they were times he was off. then there's times he was killing it. still better than most guitar players out there.

Love how Eric and Jeff keep looking at Jimmy during the solo.

Everybody has their off days sometime or, the other. I think Jimmy does a good job on here. It's like someone says on here, Jimmy was better on his off days than some other guitarists were on their best days. Jimmy Page is no doubt one of the greatest rock and, blues guitarists of all-times and, his combo with the great versatile singer Robert Plant is like the combo in flamenco music of Paco De Lucia and, Camaron. I still love how Robert andf, Jimmy would answer each other musically. Robert would sing a phrase and Jimmy would answer him on the guitar. Zeppelin was one hell of a rock group. Again, Jimmy is usually rated top 5 in any greatest rock guitarists poll. Though you can't let yourself go by those, Page knows where he rates. Jimmy always looked like the great jazz guitarist Larry Coreyell[laugh]! Now that Jimmy's older he looks japanese[laugh]! Yah and, maybe he was high here but, is he the only one who's ever done that? He plays better high than some play sober[laugh]!

rating, degrading, often ignoring the blues bad ass axe players that came before and were the core of many songs, given credit to the rockers, I love Clapton and Mayall especially for bringing those originals back to stage and exposure, so much was stolen, is it about how fast, how felt or is it the deathless mare I ride myself across the pond, over the moon and low around the Bible Belt. My foray into blues originals and contemporaries has changed so many of my opinions, such as what about Gilmore, Tinsley Ellis, Theodis Ealy and damn Son Seals just gets the spirits into me... I don't have an order, and appreciate that as in baseball, a great pitcher, a great player is one who brings it even when not on their best day. Nobody lives in their best moment, nobody lives in their worst. All I do is appreciate, especially when all that hostile debate takes the fun out of it. Who is best, who lets us down, who is king, heavy is the head that wears the golden crown, so they walk on guilded splinters, and many like Mary Barre (Jethro Tull) go under the radar. I dunno, I love them all for whoever they are. What about Weird Al Yankovic, who sometimes surpasses who he is lampooning! It is a hoot TEDDYBEAR, enjoy and thank you for your thoughts here...

Page is a total embarrassment here. An epic failure of titanic proportions. A real friend would have ran on stage an unplugged him to save himself. Clapton most have wanted to just walk off. To put JP in the same league as Clapton is insult to Eric. One thing Page was good at was ripping off and stealing old Willie Dixon and other blues artists songs and claiming writing credits, that he was real good at!

I agree with most of what you said, but he should not have taken the stage in this condition, he had to know he wasn't going to sound good.

This is pretty much a Jimmy Page solo and when Slowhand and Jeff Beck jumps in it reminds me of the Yardbirds. My best friend Mike Gibbins used to play the Yardbirds and Cream and a lot of Old school bands that showed me a insight of Rock and Rolls Roots. RIP Mike.

You guys should keep in mind that when Clapton tried to play in the throes of his addiction, he at various times collapsed on stage, nodded off, or produced shit like the rainbow concert. Cut Page some slack here, he's doing relatively ok under the circumstances.

Philip Woodbury ...this is one of the most unbeliavle comments I have ever read: The only thing wrong with the "RAINBOW CONCERT" was the original mix. When it was remixed on c.d.in '94, the full show, you can see it is a different story, man!! Eric's playing is great there! And never in his career, still drunk or stoned, he played as bad and stupidly as J.P. The worst thing for me, if you are a guitarrist, is try to play more than your fingers CAN. The real masters think: "ok, I will play less notes tonight...but well played, with pulsation and clearness"...which is what really makes a guitar sound nice...but Jimmy thinks the contrary: "I have to do the full solo...because I can not improvise a different thing"...even if he runs over himself. This is what a 16 years old guitar player would do to impress his classroom. (Sorry x my English...I am from far away) And sorry to all Page's fans...I used to be one of them..

The worst thing in cases like this, as with other performers, is the nature of the business. No one would tell these 'artists' that they were fucking up. Elvis was a prime example. Too much public expectation and greed drive things -- hence the age-old saying, "The show must go on!"

This is always a joy to hear and to play along on my guitars. I was switching back from 6 to 12 string acoustics thinking, I totally get the need for the double neck lol.
