@@CharlesBerthoud It would be nice to here you do a version of Hotel California sing that has a lot of parts. Another interesting thing to do is have a 4 or 6 string bass modified to have 4 or 6 independent outputs. Then each string can have a different effect. It's also good to have another switch operated by foot which can convert it all to one sound on and off so you can play a section within a piece conventionally and then switch back to the multiple outputs. So with such an instrument you don't have to have every string a different effect, you could have 2 strings one effect, the other two another effect, whatever is suited to the composition. The two strings that have the same effect dont; have to be next to each other, they could be the high and low or whatever you like. there are many possibilities. There also is a company that makes a pickup like this Modular multi-channel pickups by Cyfi Research The key is to start with find different effects that compliments each other well and adjust their parameters to fit even better, then add a new string, three sounds and do the same.

There are a number of artists today that I feel are extremely talented. There are few that will have the duration over generations that Pink Floyd has. It's a good thing to have a first listen of this without reading the lyrics. Getting a strong feel for the music and its power is most important. The lyrics will fill everything out later. I am a highly educated scientist and physician and lover of music. Of the gifts God has given me the ability to play is not one of them. This is a gift, refined by a lifetime of work and dedication and practice. Thank you for sharing your gift and efforts.

Technically very few people in the entire world would be capable of this as a feat, getting all of the intonation so accurate while combining the moving accompaniment with the melody - however what really sets it apart, I think from everyone I've ever heard on bass is the tone and expressive musicality within that,

I love the way the song finishes without resolving itself, it's like a book where the ending is left open for the reader to imagine who it will end.

I hope that Robert, John Paul and Jimmy have watched this, they, especially JP, will be floored. Great play!
