USA managed, there was serious resistance to the idea of centralized government, including a civil war. Imo, over time, EU will get more cohesive to allow this.

@@TheLordboki No. There are some pretty substantial differences between the US and the EU. With the US there is a common language and culture that binds the states together. The EU has none of that. The causes of the US Civil War can be summed up as economics (yes, slavery was a matter of economics).

Millennium Dawn. One of the best mod of Hoi4, excellently made, full completed of every details needed to experience modern day politics, warfare, economics etc... Cause of nervous breaking of almost the totality of the players. Some have even matured PTSD. 🤣🤣🤣👍

Once again, I recommend to boost AI nations, choose AI economic boost in preset settings and boost majority of bigger nations so that AI will not suicide itself in Millenium Dawn. It's unfair to player, but at least the world isn't collapsing. And if you're playing a nation that allows boosting, difficulty debuff and boost cancel each other and you get only buffed AIs. And a small research malus.

It's just never worth it unless you're doing it for political power or because you, as an individual, have shares in a company that could make a lot of profit from that changing situation, East India Trading Company style, because they'll come out ahead, not either of the countries. Also, I am amazed at how easily you got that debt down. Were it so easy... Also, hearing you talk about the migrant problem, sorry you had to deal with it. Paris, Ii assume? I at least hope you got to see some of the countryside, it's got the best parts of the country, especially for a holiday.

If you wanna try another european country I'd recommend monarchist Sweden, i've already tried it and I was able to do something interesting way earlier than with other countries but only got a good industry/economy through puppeting Germany. :)

Europe has had a thousand years to develop independent, prideful nations who only decided to finally get along after 2 world wars and the invention of weapons that would have made a 3rd world war apocalyptic. Convincing them all to give up their independence was always going to be a major pain in the ass. Doing so by 2014 strains credibility as it is. African countries might be even more reluctant to surrender autonomy to a past colonial power. There is plenty of historical baggage there. They'd need a very compelling reason... like being dug out of crippling debt and extended all of the lovely welfare benefits of a developed European power. If everything is going great, they'll stick on their own. With all of the horrible political BS you needed to deal with, it's no wonder that so many nations considered leaving.
