Thank you for playing the US focus tree. I'll admit, I would've thought you might have looked over your National Spirits a bit more to get a more well rounded understanding of why everything is on fire but at least you kinda figured it out in the end lol. As the coder/writer for the US focus tree rework i'll give a small explanation to my madness. Like you said in the ending portion of the video the US is both boring and unique, being the sole Superpower after the Cold War and having such an economy behind it would make world conquest extremely easy. Therefore I wanted to balance the reality that the War on Terror provided, which was keeping the Decision section and stuff already in place which predates my joining the MD team, while at least giving you an outline based on your response to the 9/11 attacks and how you started your foreign policy in the "testing grounds" of the Sierra Leone Civil War. With the 3 main paths overall being Arms Dealing/War Profiteering Humanitarian Approach (i.e. limited and just forms of intervention) War on Terror (i.e. American Militarism and world policing) Since the US does not have per say much activity in conventional wars outside the invasions of Iraq and the intervention in Afghanistan I decided to put a lot more emphasis on the domestic situation with America. The left tree which is divided by party elected is the Economic Policy Term Tree, which every presidential term whatever party is in they get a set of policies in line with the party to actually implement. You have the Military Industrial Complex tree to its right. You have the mini political tree for the Clinton Admin, The 9/11 attack response and aftermath domestic policies Right under those is the Domestic Policies section which includes, Social, Cultural and Public Services along with the "Green Wave" issues at the bottom. To the very right is the Foreign Policy trees related to Sierra Leone's Civil War (a testing ground/intro of what direction you want to take), The Afghanistan Question, Iraq Question and the Syrian Civil War Question. In the bottom of all this is a long ass tree which is the Regulatory Battleground Tree, a dedicated tree to economically improving the US economy at the cost of your regulations, which mind you the state of your regulations does influence the old "Great Recession" content, something I kept in purely on the fact it is so easy to just game as in order to get rid of its national spirit you just need stable growth after getting it lol. Then to its right you have the old Space Tree Right of that is the Mass Media Tree (something which is getting reformed in the coming update this 29th) Right of that is the War on Drugs tree (also getting a rework this coming update) Then had you chose to ignore all the grass roots political movement events, libertarians, crackpot isolationists, ect. Along with choosing to have the Anti-trust cases be guilty up until 2005, you'd have unlocked 3 Political Reforms and 4 Economic Reforms as decisions you have to do. Doing those would have unlocked the teaser for Phase 2 which is coming in the mentioned April 29th update. That process is also getting a rework, along with the econ events about major US economic happenings and the state at which congress as put our nation was also tweaked and so forth. In the end, your playthrough is something i've long been waiting for in any regard cause i've wanted pure reaction and feedback and a lot of the stuff is already been worked on, especially like the Entire Focus tree's visibility. In the coming update everything for the Phase 1 stuff will be visible on start, however it will dynamically un-load what you have completed. @@andrew3203 To be honest its a fun niche thing to do that, but remember that these people got elected due to the party and party base. So modeling things around specific people is a bit of a meh kinda thing. Its one thing if say the party itself is essentially that person, like in some parliamentary democracies the prime minister can be at times considered the party, especially if popular enough. But realistically speaking on the whole these leaders are in the end of it figure heads to the parties which they come from. There of course can be nuances where they try to push personal stuff, but it tends to take a lot of political maneuvering to do so.

@@stakuyi Yeah its been a hell of a journey tbh. Joined back in October of 2020 as a creative writer to an idea I had towards the US and the releaseable tags they had teased that same month. From there I slowly got swept up into learning coding and doing a lot more than I ever had anticipated. Now some 3yrs later, almost 2 major updates and a complete overhaul of essentially the main "character" of the mod as my first focus tree where I did both writing and coding, the actual first focus tree I wrote was the Kentucky focus tree for North America Divided....wish it had my foreign policy but that's a rant for another day. Anyways rambling aside, I've finally come full circle and have begun work on Phase 3 - A Post United Era. I'll be taking a creative break however so the tags and one of the event chains to cause the Post United Content has already been put in as a teaser that players can find. Soon I shall be taking a vacation to Fiji...yeah I somehow willed that into existence lol. Me and my buddy did a game last summer were I played USA and he played china since he was better at the time. Little did he know there's an OP NATO tree which basically goes down until the US can get a puppet goal on Russia. It was 2010 when I had the world and declared on him. He left a minute later since his fighter 2s couldn't beat my fighter 4s

Tbh there aren't many countries that get to do something in MD in the "playable" aka early game years. I suggest Ethiopia(start at war with Eritrea and with unstable neighbourhood. Plus it has unique focus tree), Syria(unstable neighbourhood, unique focus tree, can form arab federation(s)), Afghanistan. Chechnya challenge is still impossible, though I guess a rebalance to Russia is in the works given their recent perfomance. And that's pretty much all examples of anybody interesting in first decade 🤔

Ethiopia and the DRC start at war and make for an interesting start, with plenty of expansion areas to go into. India gives you a bigger start than both of the either two combined, and it is fun to reintegrate the former British Raj lands. Brazil has a lot of internal expansion, as well as controlling all of South America.
