I think one of my favourite things about this movie is the foreshadowing Deaths with Foreshadowing: In the opening, when Jeremy asks the five girls to dance with him, their responses foreshadow their fates. Shelley's response: "In your dreams, loser!" Killed while lying in a sleeping position in a body bag. Lily's response: "Ewww!" Received a box full of maggot-filled chocolates. Later used for archery kill, with her body falling into a dumpster. Paige's response: "I'd rather be boiled alive." Make that electrocuted in a hot tub. Kate's response: "Maybe later, Jeremy." She survives only because she showed kindness to Jeremy Dorothy set him up big time, claiming that Jeremy attacked her under the bleachers when they were caught making out by several school bullies. He gets his ass kicked and sent off to reform school as a result. Adam sets her up to take the fall for all of the murders, and gets away scot-free.

@@irvinmaddox4192 Jeremy absolutely and positivity deserved his revenge in every way on the people that did him wrong in the past. If Jeremy told Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Dorothy how their actions ruined his life they would not be receptive or submit to his feeling's based on the charterization in the movie as they are still cruel and heartless which indicates that they did not take full responsibility for their actions and has no remorse or regret for how they all treated Jeremy years ago 🥺😭😞 which made their deaths so satisfying.😏😈

@@angelothehorrorfan5013 Through the whole entire movie Paige never show any ounce of sincerity and compassion for Jeremy. Even though she admitted that they're we're horrible to him but it wasn't really sincere or genuine and despite the fact that she knows he is the killer after Dorothy confesses that Jeremy never attacked her her reaction was very cruel and heartless and even though Dorothy confesses but it wasn't really remorseful or regretful as she view her justification accurate. In my opinion Dorothy should have view Jeremy's invitation to dance as a positive standpoint as at least someone had interest in her since she wasn't really popular like Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Kate and everything would have been cool if Dorothy was real and just told the truth that she was kissing Jeremy. For example-( Bully)- " You like it Buffalo getting hot?" ( Dorothy)- " Yeah I am it was great." Sure she would have been still teased but at least it won't end horribly but unfortunately due to her insecurities she did Jeremy dirty. She framed him for sexual assault, got him beat up by bullies, and got sent to reform school. Everytime when I watch the scene when Dorothy confesses that Jeremy never attacked her and her justification of why she did it really makes my skin crawl as it was just absolutely pitiful. She framed him for sexual assault because she was fat like what? 😕 She wasn't even fat in my opinion. Based on the charterization in the movie it's indicating that they did not take full responsibility for their actions as they are still cruel and heartless as they do not have no remorse or regret for how they all treated Jeremy years ago.😭🥺😞

I love Valentine. It's one of the best slasher movies. It's something about it that really intrigues me. It has this sexy and guilty pleasure vibe such as the concept, element, tone, and theme as it was just constructed perfectly. It was such a unique and creative perspective in the slasher genre. The actresses did a great job portraying their roles. Also I love that twist ending and that song called Breed by Snake River Conspiracy that plays at the ending credits. It was just a really perfect way to end the movie. To this day I keep up a tradition of watching it every February and I consider it decent. Valentine is a true blue modern gem. Jamie Blanks directed a classic that will be in our hearts forever. It never gets old. You can not possibly forget about this movie as it's just so memorable and well-known. It is one of Jamie Blanks best and finest work in cinema. When it was first released it received negative reviews which totally confused me but despite that I hold it very close to my heart. The movie was just constructed perfectly from the very beginning to the end. It was such a fun rollercoaster thrill ride. You have a good time with this movie. I'm so happy that Scream Factory Blu-Ray released a Collector's Edition as it's finally getting the recognition and credibility it deserves as critics and audiences are fully understanding and comprehending the interpretation of the story.😍💯👍😎

@dejaalston8672
@dejaalston8672 Жыл бұрын
To the audience Dorothy is a red herring as it makes us think she is the killer based on the argument between her and Kate when they both accused their boyfriend's of being the killer which is Adam ( Kate's boyfriend) and Campbell ( Dorothy's boyfriend) as Dorothy figure that Kate was jealous but in reality Kate was stating logical and common facts. 1. She been dating Campbell for a month now and she doesn't even know his last name?, 2. She mention what Ruthie his ex-girlfriend said, and 3. How well do you really know Campbell? It made her angry that she finally told Kate of how she feels about being " The Fat One" as she rants about their personality and characteristic traits as she said " Come on Kate!!!!! You've always been the popular one and Shelly was always the brainy one, and Lily was the fun one, and Paige was the sexy one, and I was the big fat one!!!!! and as far as you concerned that's exactly the way how it is well you know what? screwed all of you!!!!!" That was a bad move on Dorothy's part as she angrily walks away from Kate which made her a easy target for Jeremy. If Dorothy stay with Kate they could have both defeat the killer and Kate will see who the killer is and Kate will apologize to Dorothy for not believing her that Adam was the killer as they will both be the sole survivors of the killing spree. When Adam unmasked the "killer" it is revealed to be Dorothy which shocked and confused Kate but their's a twist as it shows Adam nose is bleeding which indicates he is Jeremy Melton after all as he is the true killer as he framed Dorothy for the murders just like Dorothy framed him for sexual assault. The audience know that because in the opening scene of the movie Jeremy's nose was bleeding when he was attacked by school bullies at the Valentine's Day dance. To this day it still gives me chills and goosebumps 😰😱 as it was just a really perfect way to end the movie due to the works of director Jamie Blanks as it was just constructed perfectly.😍💯👍😎

@@thecinemawithjames If you pay attention to when Dorothy is falling down the stairs at the end, she is really limp. We know Adam was upstairs already because he comes out with the gun at the top of the stairs. Adam shoots her multiple times before she gets up so i think Dorothy was already dead or half dead as she and Kate fell down the stairs. He wanted to make sure she couldn't reveal him by finishing her off, but only after she "attacks" Kate

Fun fact: Denise Richards improvised many of her lines. She was not a fan of cinematic horror and stated she did not wish to be typecast as typical other actresses. I just remember all my friends recommending it cause I was Buffy obsessed (still am) and they knew David Boreanaz was in it so naturally I rewatched it to death as a teen. Can still quote parts of it word for word 😂

It never gets old.😍💯😎👍

how the maggots got in the chocolate... Melt chocolate and temper it. pour into heart-shaped molds and tip out the excess, after the chocolate has set, mix maggots with caramel, spoon into now set chocolate heart molds, finish by covering with cool melted chocolate, and scrape with a palette knife for a smooth finish. Once the chocolate has set, pop them out of their molds, arrange in a nice box, and serve to your worst enemy.

If you like 2000s slashers, _Sorority Row_ (2009) is one of the better ones I don't think you've reacted to yet. And if you're in the mood for an '80s horror, I recommend checking out _The Hitcher_ (1986). They released a remake in 2007, but the '86 version is the one to watch.

The first time I watched it was when it hit DVD. I had guessed who the killer was from watching the trailer and wanted to know if I got it right and because I'm a fan of David's. lol I was a little disappointed that it turned out to be him, but over the years I've come to really enjoy the ending and wish we could have gotten a sequel where he went after the boys who beat him up.

I think what's great is that it's established early on that Angel's drinking habits made him scary. I feel like this movie is an exercise in Chekhov's Gun. Every detail about every character comes back in some way, shape, or form.

This movie and several others like it happened as a result of Scream 1996's success. The late 90s early 2000s slasher films are fun and this one is a classic. The fact the main actress went on to play Officer Judy Hicks in Scream 4 & 2022 makes me wonder where she is hiding the lemon squares in this film.

Watched this movie a few days ago on Tubi when you announced it, honestly a good time. I love these 90s/00s slashers, just pure silly fun. And you have a crazy talent of knowing exactly what characters are going to/should say before they say it, your instincts are on POINT. Can’t wait to see what you have ready for the rest of February, you definitely should squeeze The Menu in if you can because you’d really love it I think. Happy V-Day! ❤️ And also, try to enjoy your last month of social media safety before you go dark since it’s less than a month before Scream 6. I got my tickets for the Thursday premiere and I can’t WAIT! It’s going to be a long month and even longer before we watch it together, but it’ll be worth it I know.

In a funny way, the ending of this movie is actually poetic justice. Dorothy ruined Jeremy’s life with her false allegation, and Jeremy got her back by setting her up to look like a murderer. It’s the perfect revenge lol i can’t even be mad at him 👏👏👏
@dejaalston8672
@dejaalston8672 10 ай бұрын
Dorothy was the main source of Jeremy's public humiliation. In my opinion Dorothy should have view Jeremy's invitation to dance as a positive standpoint as at least someone had interest in her since she wasn't really popular like Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Kate and everything would have been cool and none of this wouldn't happen if Dorothy was real and just told the truth that she was kissing Jeremy. For example-( Bully)- "You like it Buffalo getting hot?" 😏 (Dorothy)- " Yeah I am it was great." 😁 Sure she would have been still teased but at least it won't end horribly but unfortunately due to her insecurities she did Jeremy dirty. Even though she confesses it wasn't really remorseful or regretful. Wacthing Jeremy getting his revenge on Dorothy was so satisfying as it put a smirk on my face as she deserved everything that came to her.😏😈

I remember buying this magazine called “Wicked” which featured Valentine in it and I was geeking out showing it to all my classmates. I love the costume of the killer. I have the motion picture soundtrack. The acting is good, the plot is interesting, and the kills are awesome. Out of Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Dorothy who we're very cruel and heartless Kate is the most likeable one due to her being such a genuinely and sincerely sweet and nice person. She rejected Jeremy in a kind and polite way as she was considerate and sympathetic of his feeling's and she feels remorse and empathy for him despite the fact that she knows he is the killer after Dorothy confesses that he never attacked her. Through all those 13 years Jeremy always remember Kate as the only person that ever gave him a ounce of sincerity and compassion in his life which is why he always loved her and spared her life.
