Just finished my first play through on game pass, 170 glorious hours. Will be purchasing the ultimate edition on GOG. They deserve it. I went completely off the main story path, went everywhere except Duga and Prypiat.

This is such a nice game. If they continue to update and fix the bugs it could become one of the best open world games. Better than any game Bethesda has made in the last decade as it is now.

Yeah every game I’ve played on UE5 is horrible. I hate how any AI can’t render out past 80 meters. Noticed the same thing with The Forever Winter. Breaks the immersion and feels tacky. I wish they would’ve just stayed on X Ray engine. I’m having a lot of fun with it nonetheless but frame generation is an absolute must, so it’s sad you need 64 gb ram and a 40 series GPU to get any decent performance

It's not really the engine fault except UE5 having a stuttering problem, the real problem is when you replace the proper way how to optimize games with FrameGen technology and other staff imo.

Even with all the technical problems the game is still amazing and probably the best open world I’ve ever played. I’ll do a 2nd run once the performance mode is fixed on Series X

Stalker SoC was the first PC game I ever played back in 07.. I was hooked from the get go and that game was WAYY ahead of its time in every regard. I’m loving stalker 2 but it desperately needs performance optimization updates asap.

Wish I experienced SOC back in the day when it dropped, I was on console back then haha I agree, there are a few mods that help with optization and can lower the graphic settings even more so more people can run the game!

Frame generation is a must. Helps a lot. I get 140 fps with occasional dips to 90-100. But yeah sadly you need a 40 series gpu to enable it

Nowadays is impossible to make a game that won't be sht on by lots of ppl...because everyone is fkn tribalised....DooM fans feeling disgusted when you can't carry 100 kg on you back and still sprint like a cheetah, EFT, Gamma fans feeling the lack of complications ...CoD fans that hate walking 10 seconds in one direction without killing something ...so the vibe that the devs tried to deliver is felt in millions of ways by millions of gamers...the conclusion...incredibly good games nowadays are cult classics: Baldur's Gate , Elden Ring etc....

I loved the original game, the other 2 were fine too. I hope they fix the enemy spawn problem cuz rn, the game is constantly spawning enemies for me, It's so overwhelming! specially for human bases.

I played all the way through recently. The granite squad was a terrible fight. Couple of bugs, but not bad. I really enjoyed the game. Wish it ran a little better, my CPUs fault (i5 10400). At one point I had to fight 6 bloodsuckers at the same time :/

@ could not agree more! However I do have a question for you. I’ve seen several people do this and can’t find any info on it. In your video you unload a Spaz shotgun one shell at a time then reloaded it around 7:30. How do you do that? I’m on Xbox but even if you say how to do it on PC I can figure out the console version most likely. I really would love to do that but haven’t been able to figure out how or if it’s even possible on Xbox.

@@anthonyalberts8167 I’m not sure what button it is one Xbox, but I just switch the ammo type and it will unload all of the shells. It does look bad ass too lol

@ ahhh ok I’m probably screwed then because that’s one weird thing about shotguns on console when you switch ammo types it just switches with no animation unlike every other gun type. Immersion breaking for sure but honestly in the heat of battle it’s nice to be able to switch with a fully loaded shotgun to AP rounds without reloading lol.

hadn't played any other Stalker game befrore this one, but I had played Metro games so I knew I was gonna somewhat like it. I didn't have too many bugs early-mid game, but in late game they were there but I managed to get almost 90 hours still in my first playthrough. Excited to get back into the zone when there's more fixes and polish.

If you use mods, yes, if not no. Game is just a generic fps without A-Life from stalker1. It's also pretty unbalanced with abundance of loot (rip any survival aspect) and aimbot npcs. So yeah, use mods that fix these things and wait for A-Life to be active then it will be worth

@@tarxtv It's not the hardware, *_it's the game._* With 1.0.3 you can even freeze your game by getting caught in certain vortex anomalies (big spherical grav anomalies). It's highly reproducible with specific ones. I believe there's one around Rostok on the edge of a cliff by the train tracks. Ryzen 7 5800X3D RX 7600XT all settings medium, frame gen off due to horrid input lag, TSR set to 75% scaling 32GB DDR4 @ 3200MHz Installed to a non-OS NVMe SSD @ PCIe 4.0 with over 40% free space, recently trimmed X570 chipset The game runs like shit without mods, even without any other applications open. People are coping and white knighting extremely hard for this game.

Kinda difficult to make a perfect game when the developers had to pick up and move twice with one of the moves being out of their home country. Then having to set up an entire new office and start from where they left off in Ukraine, the fact that we even got the game is a miracle.
