"Chornobyl" is the Ukrainian spelling not the Russian spelling we all knew. It was originally the russian spelling used until the war started. So GSC put it to the Ukrainian spelling as they should.

​@@Kraven240Wrong. I don't know what languages you saw, but between russian and Ukrainian one there is a different variations of cities naming like: russian "Kiev" and Ukrainian "Kyiv", "lvov" and "lviv". It's globally changed after 1991. Just not many people were paying attention

@@Kraven240 Names change very often in different languages. In Ukrainian Its right to say Chornobyl. And since the game is ukrainian its accurate to name it this way.

and in general, in my opinion, the first Stalker is, if not the top 1, then definitely among the top 3 games of that era. quality open shooter that has nothing to do with war. This is generally something strange for the 2000s

if you really impressed by the game, you should definitely check out the series. It's not one of those cod, battlefield games, it's a story focused open world, bizarre, hardcore and very slow paced experience even that's pretty tarkov like(btw tarkov is inspired by stalker). despite the og experience is janky, buggy and grindy at times, but the game itself still worth the credits.

I will add the Stalker games did not inspire the Metro games. Metro is a book series that predates the games.
