Your video reminded me of my stay in Brussels, opening my door at 5 am and getting my gear ready, then riding my brompton to the urban west. Even when people have made it buildings and concrete, I did feel freedom, water and beautiful carp!

Sounds awesome mate, I'm same, I just love being around water, and the hunting instinct just kicks in, and I get that feeling of being free as well, there's nothing else like it, .. actually riding a motorbike through the countryside for hours does something similar too, like your focused but zoned out at the same time, the riding just becomes automatic and your free again. Good stuff. 🎣 😎

Oh come on . Closed seasons all bullshit . Its was put there to get the poor people of the banks so the rich people could enjoy the best of the salmon and trout fishing undisturbed . The closed season dates dont even match up with course fish spawning . You and your club can keep frowning . While the river banks are closed , the fish are being eaten by immigrants and our rivers are having all sorts of crap dumped into it . The environment agency aint worth a wank. Its the anglers that are the guardians of our rivers . I bet not many poachers would think about poaching with these guys on the bank . If they did , i bet these guys would have something to say about . I frown upon you and your club and your poncey attitude . Like many of the top lakes that dont have a closed season . If the fish are spawning , pack up and go home !!!

E Williams interesting read but doesn't talk about sea spawning areas and times. Just did a bit of research and your right most sea fish will move away from the inshore marks to spawn. But the other thing is I know the bass come up the Thames estuary to spawn and I've seen cod gutted that is full of roe so there is always going to be a overlap somewhere. Does your club refuse to fish once the season is back open and the fish are still in spawning mode?? This is the case on some fisheries now days they will adhere to the close season but once that's done people couldn't give a fuck if the fish are still going at it.
