Stalking Monster Bass over thin Duckweed Edges

Duckweed is always a great topwater cover for hunting Monster Bass that might be hiding below. But sometimes, a thin 6 to 10 inch strip is deceptively even better than duckweed that covers larger areas of the surface. However, the bass may be much more spooky on the thin edge of duckweed because they are very possibly not using it for cover. In some situations, as in the video demonstration here, the bass are actually out in the open water, but they are stalking frogs that leave the heavy terrestrial vegetation just behind the duckweed and wander on top of the thin duckweed edge. The big bass will zoom in to inspect any movement that they see in that duckweed and ambush from below. Big bass in this type of situation can be on the alert and nervous themselves, since they are not hidden under cover. They are often very spooky and near the surface. So the approach must be made with great stealth, and the presentation should be made with the greatest finesse, making only enough commotion to get noticed without spooking the bass.
