Stalled in FIRST Flight Lesson!!

My oldest boy just turned 17 and for his birthday I got him his first flight lesson towards his private pilots license. This is what an introductory/first flight lesson would be for those of you interested in pursing your own pilots license. Stay tuned in the future to watch the making of a 4th generation pilot in his family. :)

This is a wonderful story. A great young man and a wonderful CFI. It is very gracious of Carson to share this experience with us and very kind of you to take the time to film it. It is so informative to those of us who are not pilots. I really hope that both he and the CFI are amenable to continuing to film this series as we are all going to enjoy it and learn so much. WOW!!!! Great job!!!!!!! You are definitely a NATURAL , you must be paying attention to your Dad when you fly with him. Very impressive, it took me 30 landings with assistance from my instructor before I could get over hitting the ground too hard!! I agree with the instructor, if you study hard on your ground school, you will be soloing in no time!!!!!! Great job Kevin on the video as usual and teaching him the basics, obviously he was paying attention.

Congrats Carson! I remember my 1st (and still only) flying lesson in a C172 back in 2014. I could take off, fly around, but wasn't allowed to land it, lol. Was still a lot of fun. I wish you the best with proceeding lessons!

I'm not so sure I would want to be a 17 yo kid in the world which we live in today, but because you have loving parents who want to nourish and guide you, you are lucky and in a position to do and become anyone you want to become. Good job, Carson. For your first flight, you did a great job, and not bad on the landing. Kinda reminds me of my first lesson back in the mid-1960’s. Your need to continue your ground school, and study those books. You’re gonna make a great pilot, just like your Dad. I wish my instructor back in the 60’s was a good as yours is.

Derek Thurgood I was going to say the same thing. It really does take you back. I remember the excitement of the realization that "I" actually controlled an airplane ! I wish I had a CFI like this. Every time I got a new instructor, I was given one who had just been foreclosed on and had a tax audit that afternoon lol!

Wow, Wish that was my 1st flight! I had an old school instructor an an aviation college and he yelled the whole first flight! His approach,which was really effective, was if he made you feel unprepared for your 1st flight you would be over prepared for all your flights after that! I was ready to quit after that flight, but than then, after that flight he was great! That was over 30 years age in a 172! This instructor seems like a really good motivator, and that goes a long way in you training👍👍👍👍👍

That instructor reminds me of my first CFI , we had excellent chemistry. He left after receiving a call to jump to the airlines. Never flew with another CFI like him.

My boy did all this himself in a sport plane. I am so proud of him. I only flew flight simulator around John Hancock over and over in slow mo. Best thing a dad can do: encourage giving it a try. thanks to you and Carson.....

Absolutely brilliant, and it looks like your youngster had a great time and what a great instructor 👍 I’ve always wanted to be a pilot and had a bet with my A320 Captain friend I would solo in 2020/21 and I had planned to start my PPL lessons and finally make a start now I had time etc. Sadly my 23 year old successful exhibition business has been killed by the virus and everything has gone so my dream is well and truly fooked for the moment 😢 I hope your son grasps this opportunity with both hands and has as much fun as you do Kevin!
