@William, if you are referencing the squarish area that has a bunch of things that look like buttons and switches on the top row, that is the circuit breaker panel. They all pop out if the circuit trips and the switches at the top control the exterior lighting, de-ice controls and a couple other minor things.

Really enjoyed this. My grandfather was a pilot from age 17 (WWII instructor) to age 71. He took me with him many times and this reminded me of those trips. He later flew Barons and last had a candy-apple red v-tail Bonanza (hot!) He could do it all in his sleep, but never swayed from the meticulous checks and process. You picking out the clouds that you like reminded me of him too. He would always say "Joel, look at these clouds. No one else will ever see what we are seeing right now." I loved that. Thanks again, beer(s) on me if you're ever in the Portland OR area.

I have been watching the Raptor build and Elliot had requested the plane be moved to a different airport. Watching your departure, I completely understand the lay of the land now and why they want it taken to a different airport. I have been waiting to see this video that I was hoping you would post showing the area. Great job!! Knowing there was deer and terrain that is not suitable for test flying, that makes complete sense that they are moving the plane to a different location. Thanks Kevin for a great video!! Keep up the great work!!

I got my PPL in 1969 but only have about 100 hrs- things changed. But I love watching and hearing you showing how high performance (at least to me!) GA really works. Obviously I missed Jamie a LOT on this video, but the close-ups of the gauges and the explanations made up for it- somewhat---LOL. I felt much better when I found out that both you and Jamie are controllers- no wonder you are so natural. Coming from a small, uncontrolled field, I was a klutz at radio work. Keep up the good "work" and fly safe!

Haven't commented for awhile but wanted to say how great your videos were with your sister. It's apparent you both care a great deal about each other and even though she is scared to death of flying she trust you. My wife watched for a little while and said the scenery was spectacular. She loves the clouds and after you explained the bumpy ones and the the ones that don't cause any rough rides she now points out as we drive our car that Kevin said those are big beautiful clouds but cause turbulence and the nice smooth clouds don't, ha! Thanks again for all your videos and keep them coming. Fly safe.

One hundred octane splash. When I was in the Navy stationed at Naval station Mayport , Florida one time , I had an experience with a JP-5 fuel truck hose bursting right at the connection under the wing of an F 4 Phantom . While waiting for the jet to be topped off ,I was about three feet from the connector when it let go. I was completely drenched in fuel. Then I had to run to the truck to shut the fuel off because I was the only one performing the fueling . I know the feeling. Not a good day. That particular fueling was under pressure . Like I said ,not a good day. So glad you weren't hurt or had a fire .Stay safe Kevin . Take care.......

I enjoyed the night landing. I'm not a pilot but my ex-father in law had a V-Tail Bonanza and an Aeronca if I'm spelling that right. My ex didn't like flying but she'd go with us at times to spend more time with me. The twin Baron was one of my favorite planes because it's gorgeous and your new paint looks killer. I watched one of yours the other day about the approach to Sun and Fun and I know exactly why your wife hates it. We lived in Orlando at the time (Altamonte springs) and that race track holding around the lake was a trip because people weren't the most cautious. Enjoy the show and I'll stop and say hi if I'm ever at a show and see you two. I live in Nashville now. Take care! Chris

Kevin, you learned the hard way, never pull out while pumping. Had my face sprayed too. Was wearing sunglasses or disaster. My case it was mogas and that has a lot more nasty crap including ethanol. Thanks for the great vids.

Kevin, Another great video. I have always loved the views of the tip tanks. When I had my 310 that was the best view from the inside. I thought it was funny when you were talking about spatial disorientation (vertigo) and keeping the shiny side up (very important) but with your aircraft which side isn't shiny? LOL. Definitely a very important subject as many accidents have resulted from this. Nicely done. :). Great trip and, even with the throttle friction mentioned, good night landing (they are definitely more difficult than day time). Stay safe and looking forward to your next aviation adventure with 1BC. RL PS Just received my July issue of TTCF and lo and behold...great cover and article. Good for you. Very nice!

What a great video for us aviation geeks! Well done! Very educational and enjoyable. I've been a Cessna 310 fan since my days of watching Sky King. Appreciate your channel. Keep up the good work!

Kevin, You gained a subscriber today. I’ll have to play catch up on the videos but the ones I have watched are great. Love the destinations, the technical explanations and enjoy seeing the upgrades to the aircraft. Your channel has it all. 😎

Hi Kev, Yet another great vid and thanks for all the explanations! O.K. so I finally got my answer on the two bars of your right engine monitor, 2 cylinders running a little warm. I saw that about 3 videos ago. My 2 shirts from your mercantile fit nicely, tried to send you photos but don't know if you got em. Lastly... In the aviation world we lost a big one this past Tuesday... Mike King. Mike had been a long time friend of mine for many years. His life was all about aviation, I just had 12 wonderful years in it. We used to share our stories together at the Bottlecap and at Schooners. Mike was highly recognized as one of the best "ATC's" in the field working the tower in Tampa then at EYW. Guess you don't know him but you certainly spoke with him. I heard his voice on your radio in 1BC in a video you and Jaime shared on your last Key West adventure. I'm not on Instagram much and you mentioned that you're not on FB much. If you go to FB and go to my timeline you will find photos and basically a whole chronology on Mike sent out by his friends, family, colleagues and then some. Tomorrow I go to Key West International to deliver flowers and a card to his co workers, weather permitting, we got that storm upon us now. Mike King died of complications due to the corona virus.

I'm not a pilot, so i love all the "tech" stuff that you talk about, it's very cool and interesting Kevin!! I did fly RC planes with my dad many years ago.Thinking of getting Microsoft flight sim when it comes out next month.

Love you taking us along on the flights! Probably as close as I will ever get to actual flying. You would have to drug me to get me in an airplane or anything else that flys. I think I will just stick to watching your videos. Y’all have a good-un!!!

Love how your panel looks all lit up at night!! Your channel has me looking at the 310. Never really considered it before because of the dual engine ownership cost. I figured a good 6 seater for our family of 5 (& because I grew up flying w/my dad in his 182) would be a Cessna 206 or a 210. cheers! Jason

Thanks Jason!! 206/210's are nice planes as well. I personally like the added security of the 2nd engine but if you don't handle it correctly it can actually be worse. Honestly, the only additional real cost is at engine overhaul time. The rest is all fairly comparable to a HP/complex 6 seat single. Insurance on the 206 is for sure the lowest. 210's may be comparable or even higher than 310's. For some reason there have been a lot of claims on them is what I've heard.
