I am a gastric bypass post-op patient who also happens to be a primary health care provider. After many years talking to and treating patients on their own weight loss surgery journeys, I decided to have surgery myself. On my channel I discuss my own challenges, successes and updates regarding the process.

Hi all, I am 7.5 years out. My first year or so, I struggled with stalls. I did at first panic and try to eat less, like Kaki said that was an error in thought. I found that if I increased my calories by and extra small meal a day, it would kick start my losing again. It was difficult for me to wrap my head around eating more to lose, but it helped in that first 1.5 years. I was a slow loser but did reach goal at about a year. Also I did track everything I put in my mouth. Good luck!!

I have a lot of trouble with constipation which eventually it ends up with diarrhea. A month or so ago I didn’t have a BM for 8days! That was painful. It finally resolved and the next day I finally dropped into Onederland! Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom with us every week.

Sometimes i think it's related to " portion creep", ie, eating more food. Other times, I think it's the body's way of taking a breather. Then, I need to be tolerant of the stall. I have to remind myself that it's okay to not lose every week. Thank you for your videos.

Good point about the portion size! I have found that in myself as well.

That scale can be a bad mind trip lol And If your working out, you really cannot depend on that scale. It is better to go by pictures, measurements, how clothes fit etc. I also got a dexa scan done when I first started going to the gym 6 months ago and I will have another one done next month to show what my progress has been. When I was diagnosed with RH a month ago, I cleaned up my diet, added more protein, no junk etc ..my carbs have naturally been in the 40-50s... I lost 2 lbs of the 35 lbs of regain right away...and it hasn't moved back down since then... but I am not giving into the number and I know if I keep going, something is and will change. I already feel a million times better and I am able to up my strength training. Just have to keep going! I have seen people weight the same, but their whole body composition has changed for the good.

Experiencing a month stall right now and it is difficult. I would love to hear what helps you stay positive and motivated on your journey as you move further out from surgery.

It is difficult. What keeps me motivated is looking at how far I have come and embracing the changes in my body and health.Along the way, when I hit stalls, I said to myself, "If this is all you lose, then you are still in a better place than you were". I wasn't happy if that was the case, but it did give me perspective on my progress.

I seen my doctor she said give it 6 more weeks if the scale hasn't moved we will discuss wegovy with my bariatric surgeon, I'm hitting the gym 3x a week and I'm drinking over 100 oz of water a day. I'm also increasing protein see how that goes.
