Stamped concrete patio with a fire pit and seat wall/pillars

Join the concrete crew as we begin this new project. We installed a block fire pit, a 2' high seat wall with a pillar on each end and a new colored and stamped patio. This job was a lot of hard work but was incredibly enjoyable due to the hospitality, kindness, and HUMOR of the customers. I laughed so hard throughout this job that my throat is still soar as I type this description. These folks run a high end mobile barbecue business in southeastern Wisconsin serving private and corporate functions. There food is literally the best I have ever tasted and I highly recommend them.
In this video, we excavated the area, graded, set forms and poured a new colored and stamped patio. Before we were able to pour we needed to install the fire pit and seat wall which acted as forms for the new concrete. We used a light grey color hardener with a light grey release agent to accomplish the desired color the customer was looking for. The pattern we used for the stamped patio is called ashlar slate.
The next steps in the process are to pressure wash the patio and then apply 2 coats of acrylic, solvent based sealer. Stay tuned.

I am familiar with the rear discharge and I am VERY grateful for the front discharge. When I started in concrete a long time ago they were all rears, but over the years they transitioned and now you never see a rear discharge around here.

We use to used the bucket of a tractor to move loads to the work area.. motorized buggy works but well but the skid steer holds more. Everyone does this work differently but two people working together beats 3 people working by themselves. Set up and pour & stamp would of been one day. Great work.. couldn’t of asked for a better customer to work for 👍🏻

I absolutely love it when I show up to a job site and the customers are fun and engaging and involved in the process. One time when I was younger it was super hot outside and a customer kept making jokes because I wear white t shirts and ruin them like the first hour In. When I was rolling up my gear on the last day of the job that homeowner came over and slipped me a hundred dollar bill and said he wanted to pay for some more white t shirts for me hahahaha

7:25 LOVE Customers like this, as makes the job fun and the day enjoyable and “quick”. Hilarious when ya get a piece of the truck for $2500, that guy is awesome; and also liked the boot thing before🤣 Not all customers/clients naturally are like this; wanna joke and have “fun” w/ ya, but ya get used to reading ppl really quick and can tell which prefer the “joking” type atmosphere and then the “serious business”, and lastly the “serious get job done leave me alone” type atmosphere…..all of which is fine, as ppl are diff and would get pretty boring if everyone was the same, imo.
