This is my break down for "Stan" off of Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP.
Stan is one of the greatest story telling songs you will ever hear due to it's delivery, multiple characters, and subject matter. The video is a very narrative driven and fits the songs very well. One of Em's best songs ever.

Wow, amazing breakdown! Yay, finally know where the phrase “Don't be a Stan” first originated & what a song!! Clearly illustrates how this Stan thinking he is in a relationship with Eminem, whose art sure he really digs, must be and completely is just an illusion. Without even a meeting(s), where legit relationship might begin/possibly have time to grow, it is no wonder there can only be just idealized imaginations that Stan's in ‘relationship’ with. While not abnormal for a person to find themselves lonely, this song well shows how a danger begins when a person mistakenly thinks they can enter/construct a relationship all by their lonesome. Such a person hopefully would come to accept this truth, and see the isolation for what it is, and get to know/hopefully care for actual real people instead. I appreciated how in Eminem’s reply to Stan came that counseling type message to become grounded i.e. not get carried away in imaginings/fantasy/bouncing off the walls etc. Am talking lots for sure, but want to emphasize being grounded is a Hella important msg. Do I need to chill? lol hahah

Stan is by itself legendary, since it give a new definition to the word/name "Stan", and I am certain that at the time the song and the music video was created, there is no thoughts about a sequel or part 2 of it, but by picking up all the small details and come up with "bad guy" some 12 years later, it is simply phenomenal.
