@@NostalgicGamerRickOShay You can say any history of any people or group is "Dark" because most people alive today are descendants of warriors who genuinely did not care about weak people. Just look at Modern Europeans today who all come from the indo European people and literally wiped out the original farming people of Europe using war chariots, how you view that is an easy way to judge what racial caste you are from. When I was in college last year, a couple of Mormon kids were hanging out on the street in front of my dorm, and they started walking with me and my roommate as we were headed home, telling us about the wonders of Mormonism. My ex friend is a Mormon. We fell out over a year ago. But her family are really like the family in this episode. They are so kind and generous. The first time I met the parents. They made me dinner when I unexpectedly turned up to surprisemy mate(sort of dating at the time). I remember about a week earlier. I was with another friend and he asked if I go round for dinner would I prey with them at meal time. I said no f**King way as I was an atheist back then. But they spoke to me and said if I could just bell my head while they say grace they would really appreciate it. I was so taking back and surprised. There kindness even got me to say amen at the end. As I really liked these people from the first second I met them and wanted to respect them. This one Christmas they put all there money they was saving for christmas shopping in a pot. And they gave it to charity. And volunteered feeding the homeless on Christmas day. They are strange people to me. But that's not a bad thing. I think there strange as most people in the world are ugly and hateful. But i never felt like that with the mormons. I like to think I learned stuff from them and I am a better human being for it.

As farfetched as Mormonism's origin story is (I mean, the guy translated a completely "undiscovered" language by staring into his hat and claimed that two groups of Hebrew people [the Nephites and Lamanites] sailed to the Americas before it was technologically possible), Joseph Smith Jr. really sought to consolidate and legitimize his power by claiming that God told him men were meant to have multiple wives and that God stated that if his current wife didn't accept that she would be damned to hell. Like, really? That isn't an obvious red flag?

You don't need religion to live like that though. Monotheistic religions do far more damage than good. Greed is by far the most damaging human tendency. Monotheistic religion is the social lever most often used by those in power to justify greed and its resulting violence. If you closely examine any conflict over "religion", what you'll see is the conflict is *really* about tangible things like land, minerals, water, etc.. In this context, monotheistic religion is simply a way to rationalize taking what isn't yours.

If you tried to run a business in my town, there was no way you would be successful, if you weren't Mormon. I worked with some very intelligent Mormon Engineers, and I figured that there was no way they could actually believe some of the crazy stuff in the book of Mormon. I think most of them are in it for the benefits, it is basically a Ponzi scheme. The money is collected from the majority of the lower level ignorant Mormons, and is used by the upper level Bishops and leaders of the Cult.

Have you actually read the Bible? Not what other people say but actually the verses themselves? Also it’s pretty a popular thing to look at a lot of the things in the Bible as symbolism and not a literal account.

In my town we have a decent Mormon population and let me tell you they are unsettilingly friendly. I've never met anyone so upbeat and "Let's go!" attitude about everything as the Mormons. They're fun to hang around with but it still gives off that eerie feeling.

@@xyz7572 why is it sinister????
@xyz7572
@xyz7572 4 ай бұрын
@@waddleburr8048 it might not be the case here, but for some people if they’re always über-positive and always smiling and overly “happy” it can feel like a sinister facade, and like they won’t let themselves feel any emotion other than “joy” and push everything else down deep inside, so it feels almost like there’s a darkness inside that they don’t want to show but that’s lurking just beneath the surface, just waiting for a moment to finally explode and consume everything. It can feel like you’re in a horror movie because something feels really wrong but no one else acknowledges it at all so you’re the only one who see it. It’s not the case for all happy and smiley people of course. But for the ones who feel like they’re just “performing” happiness rather than feeling it, it can give off an uncanny-valley feeling.

@@waddleburr8048 that’s good :) When I spoke about always-happy people sometimes feeling sinister, I didn’t mean Mormons in specific being sinister, but it does seem like Mormons often are described as always-happy, which lead to the assumption on my part that some Mormons might feel a bit eerie as well. Also, I live in a country where there are no Mormons so I’ve never met one. The only exposure (both positive and negative) that I have of Mormons are from American tv-shows and ex-Mormon channels on KZbin, so my views are probably a bit skewed from that. I do understand that there are probably plenty of nice people who happen to be Mormons and who are genuinely upbeat and kind and don’t mind that others have other religious beliefs than them, and I’m glad to hear you’ve had good experiences with people like that :)

I was sent by my employer to Hill AFB in Utah to work for about 4 months. The Mormons were so nice but you quickly learned it was superficial. On Monday of course everyone would talk about their weekend and the Mormons would all talk about some get together they were all at but us non Mormons hadn't heard about and definitely hadn't been invited to. Two of us were sent there and didn't know anyone but away from work we didn't exist to any Mormon.

@@danthemankhan They fake being friendly just to get along at work. They are not sincere because they really don't care about you. Hence it is as superficial as the friendly handshake and conversation from a door to door salesman.
