I believe this tune is Stan's most emotionally outpouring melody. His swan song indeed! Never get tired of listening to it. Levon

There is a certain place that Stan goes ... and some of us know where that place is ...and when we all get there .... magic happens. I love many sax players ...but Stan takes me to that "place" each and every time. Thanks, Stan ... for the ride.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! To have been there and see him play...I'm jealous! I never tire of his music; together with Joao Gilberto, it's magic , even after all those years!
Charlie Haden wrote this for his wife, Ruth. It's a beautiful piece. Stan really dug deep on it and the emotion in his playing goes right through the heart.

Una de las baladas mas sensuales compuesta por Charlie Haden, magnifica la interpretación del gran Stan getz. y Kenny Barron.

we all miss Stan but his music lives on - I listen to it alot in the car & online. Although he rarely behaved like an angel he sure as 'ell had an angelic tone to his music. I particularly like Stan playing on Sauter's album 'Focus'.

Stan lived in northern Strandvej in Elsinore a few years back in the sixties! My friend Charlotte Dyrup, came into the house to jam session on the beach! It was a fantastic time with some of the best jazz musicians ... then! for example. when Stan played like Gerry Mulligan and Gerry played like Stan! ... fantastic !!!!!!!

I attended one of the very last recitals classical pianist Shura Cherkassky gave, less than three months before he died. He played with a transcendance that is equalled here by Stan Getz.

I've been learning this piece - my wife is called Ruth - it is technically difficult but is a beautiful composition; no-one beats Stan Getz's rendition; wonderfl stuff.

After6ty, a great many thanks for uploading and for your comment. Only at 65 I cannot find Stan 'cool' - he once said to an interviewer: 'I always want to play the blues, and all that comes out is this Jewish ache', and indeed that's what kills me. Thanks again!
