So much appreciation for Stan & his legacy. I admire his respect for DC comics. -Yeah, he'll poke a lil fun, pretending to despise them even, but only in good fun. Him & Bob Kane (creator of Batman) were good buds. There's even an enjoyable youtube vid of those 2 discussing comics together. Sadly, Mr. Kane passed in 98, just a few yrs before Marvel characters exploded onto the big screen.. As far as superhero films go, Batman easily dominated the earlier 90s, & Kane tended to tease Stan Lee on that, but Lee never seemed to take it personally. -Especially now :) If only Kane lived to see his buddy's turn in the sun.

Sadly what he said about reading becoming a lost art is true. Newspapers, Libraries ect. are slowly being replaced by the internet and E-books. Personally I don't think anything would replace a good old fashioned hardback book, especially Kindle and that shit. Sounds like bullshit to me. Guys, it's very simple. There have been a shit ton of Marvel films compared to a small handful of DC films in the last 10 years or so. It helps that the actors care about their films and even put in an extra effort (nothing against the performances or personalities of guys like Christian Bale, Ryan Reynolds, etc.) in promoting the entire series/Universe. When there is a stronger number of DC films out at a given window of time, we might see more DC guys talk shit about Marvel (or the Marvel fans). If more people were into all of the books and less with the movies, this wouldn't even be a discussion/argument/silly debate. Both are American institutions, and one happens to be owned by friggin' Disney.

Back in the 1970's I was in grade school and like so many kids then I collected comics. I was a only child and I would read my books over and over and get lost in the stories. I have nothing against DC but the marvel characters were better for me. When all the kids loved spider man,hulk,batman,superman Iron Man was my favorite. Thor,Avengers,FF,Hulk were close second. Times were just different then, never dreamed in my 40's the heros would finally come to life on the big screen. Stan is such a beloved man. His energy to this day is amazing . Thanks Stan for making my childhood one of a kind👍.

Frame by frame animation is a visual art that is timeless, and much better than all that cgi stuff that we see nowadays. (Though some cgi is quite impressive), Stan Lee is awesome.

Everyone gives Kevin Feige credit which he does deserve, but let us not forget Stan "The Man" Lee is also behind the scenes, providing more than just the reason behind MARVEL's success today but more importantly the very reason we love the characters we now know and is also directly responsible for the characters we are yet to see. Providing us with a life time of joy and inspiration long after this man has left this world.

My reason for not reading comics is a bit different. Nowadays I don't even do true reading anymore if I want to read a book I get the audiobook. Thing is you can't really read a book while actively doing something else, but you can if you're listening to an audiobook. Sadly comics aren't gonna work with that. :(

No it's not true. Actually DC did quite a bit of copying of Marvel. See when Marvel started it had a sort of science fiction angle where as most DC characters were mystical/magical. After Marvel started getting as popular as DC if not more, DC started adding a science fiction angle to a lot of their characters. Most of the Marvel universe was created by Jack Kirby, not Stan Lee, though Stan Lee steals credit for it. When Jack Kirby left Marvel because he got tired of being completely ripped off (though it was too late by then because they already were making bundles off him and still are to this day) DC picked him up and you can tell he has a distinct style. The characters he created at DC 'felt' very Marvel (that is too Marvel) and somewhat misplaced in the DC universe, simply because Jack Kirby created most of Marvel. It's really a sad story but truth be told Stan Lee is just a con artist. He's a really good salesman, but he is not an artist in any sense of the word.

CLARK KENT No I haven't seen it, but they did start copying each other a lot in the late 70's early 80's and then starting spoof each other in the 90's. Most of the copycat characters are lost and forgotten.
