I can't say it enough - I love the Stan Solo offerings! I had initially passed up on the Rebel Trooper, but after seeing it in multiple videos had to go back and get one. So happy that I did because he's amazing. I honestly can't believe they didn't have this guy in the original line. Somehow I missed the offering of Greedo completely and it was sold out on the UK store last I looked. Having watched your video today, I double checked the UK store again and was back in stock, so I checked the Etsy store & US SS site where wouldn't you know it, Greedo was back in stock! So before I could even finish your video, I pulled the trigger and got a loose Greedo headed this way. I really love how it looks on the classic Star Wars card as well as the POTF card, but I decided to pass on the carded versions and just get the loose one this time around. I like that they fix the colors to be more screen accurate and also switch the shooting hand from left to right, but was a little bit disappointed that they didn't put a little bit of a bend in the shooting arm, more similar to the original. But that is a very minor gripe, all things considered, for what is a fantastic figure. I'm not surprised you picked up one of these TVC hallways for your collection, this is a great piece at a very affordable price. And being that you're able to sell the figure and make a few dollars back, it makes it even a better deal. I've picked up the occasional TVC figure, and have all of the figures from 1995 through around 2006/7. But in the last few years have realized that none of those figures bring me the same joy as their original lineup. So well I don't think TVC is trash, and I know it has its place for folks that want to pose figures for the camera, or actually play with them, my heart is still centered around the 78-85 offerings and all the new retro style figures but from Hasbro and from the secondary market, like Stan Solo. I'd like to think that at some point soon I'll be able to sell off most of my "modern" collection items not only to make space for things I care about more, but maybe to even make a few dollars back that can be reinvested into vintage. Love the review on these great figures Dean! And love how the diorama turned out with all the Stormtroopers and rebel troopers. Very cool!

I love those Tantive IV hallways! I bought multiples of it a few years back! Probably only needed two to make the full hallway, but with 4-6 of them combined it becomes more like a full vintage playset! Great video Dean! @AllThings80s I love Stan Solo's customs and reproductions. My only issues with Hasbro's TVC line, they mainly make dioramas rather than real playsets! Then the extra articulation isn't so much of an issue with me, it's just that they make them too difficult to pose in an open display area! Then they use too much rubbery and gummy-like plastic on the their action figures and on some of the figures' weapons!

Great video Dean! The SS Greedo and Rebel figures look really good, and the cardbacks are very nicely done too! I do like TVC although I only have half a dozen or so of my favourite characters. I like the extra articulation and detail, I think they look great. In many cases they are better than the Black Series. I do however respect that TVC is not for you and I do understand the reasons for your opinion. I totally agree that the name should've been used for what is the Retro Collection. The Vintage Collection is a silly name for modern figures, it makes no sense. I actually hope to get more TVC figures at some point as well as some more proper vintage Kenner. I guess I just like Star Wars toys 😅 Thanks for sharing this video with us dude, I'm really pleased you are happy with your new display, it looks very cool! If it was mine I'd have a couple of dead rebels though 😂😂 Stormtroopers for the win! Lovely stuff.👍🐵

I would hope that the "No repro ever" crowd can at least give Stan Solo a pass on this Greedo. I agree that S.S. improved on the original offering (the screen accurate outfit is much better than the Kenner disco outfit). Although I am cool with reproductions, I will entertain the possibility that someone somewhere may try to scam a buyer with a reproduction figure, but this isn't even a concern with a product like the reworked Greedo and the Rebel Fleet Trooper since there are no original Kenner counterparts. Dean, you are one of the coolest, most mellow Star Wars fans on KZbin. Keep doing what you do as I for one really appreciate your content (especially the Star Wars videos).

I bought quite a bit of vintage collection, thinking I’d really love them, but they always looked a bit off. I sold almost all of them, except for a couple of clone troopers. Luckily most went up a lot in price 😀. And that Greedo is superb, mine is on display for the next while currently.

I love the Stan Solo Greedo. You shouldn't rag on all the new figures, for example; if you haven't seen the Rogue One 5 POA Stormtroopers or the more articulated Rogue One Stormtroopers. OMG, The helmet look is perfect. They FINALLY captured the look perfectly. They will make you want to throw your vintage Stromtroopers in the garbage. This is coming from a guy who's been there since the 70's and still has all my original figures in a Darth Vader case. Check out Boba Fett TVC#186, proportions are perfect! Such an awesome figure.

The Stan Solo Yak Face from a couple of years ago is still infinitely better than the version that Hasbro just released for the retro collection. The sculptor the Hasbro version is so soft there is hardly any detail, and you look at what Stan Solo did and it’s identical to the old vintage. How can the company that made the original do so much worse that a reproducer? The Stan Solo stuff is some of the best being made anywhere.

While I wouldn't agree that the Vintage collection is rubbish (I have a huge collection of these figures which I love for the most part), I agree that the Stan Solo figures are really cool and have a lot of them myself! They go perfectly with my original Kenner/Palitoy line up! And do indeed look really nice with modern Tantive IV playset!

Greedo looks incredible...but two things. I wish new Greedo's arms were slightly bent at the elbows like the original, and that he would have updated the figure photography on the card back with the new figure.

I love the Stan Solo Greedo. But, I really really love the original Greedo from Kenner. Not for the paint job, but rather for the natural and relaxed arms being bent slightly at the elbow. This is the position Greedo - or ANYONE really - would use while holding a pistol on someone.. I had a similar issue with the Kenner Stormtroopers- they look silly with ramrod straight arms at their sides or especially when pointing their blasters at my “good guys” in battle after battle. But. As a kid back in the 1970s, what could I do? Oh well. Great video and still love the work Stan Solo is doing

Stan Solo does tend to get everything right. The new Stan Solo Greedo does look amazing and screen accurate... but I loved my childhood Greedo... His outfit looked like what I thought characters from space should look like at the time... kinda futuristically space-suit-y. ... But then how do I rationalize my love for my childhood Hammerhead figure too ?... Answer is... just not to think about it LOL. I just dug things that were different... robots and aliens.

Some of the Vintage Collection is quite good. The Dark Times and Return of the Jedi Darth Vaders are really awesome. Also, my one thing with the Stan Solo Greedo compared to the vintage....I think the bent arm pose on the vintage Greedo is better. Kenner gave unique postures to the Star Wars figures. That's something that modern retro 5 poa doesn't do much of. Great figures all around.

Have only love for the vintage Kenner SW toys I owned and played with as a child The modern Hasbro SW figures mean nothing to me. Yes, I agree, they are over-articulated - five points of articulation is plenty enough for me - and they shouldn’t be called “vintage”, either. Would like to see SSC release an Endor Luke with removable helmet, and packed with a green lightsaber, instead of a palace blaster.

Your sweeping condemnation of the entirety of TVC is pretty off-base. It's fine if you prefer the retro style, but it's silly to say TVC is "garbage". While a handful of figures do look less than ideal, a majority of the figures they've produced in the past few years are nothing short of stunning in both overall sculpt and articulation. ROTJ Fett, 'Dark Times' Vader, and Bib Fortuna are just a few examples of figures that look absolutely incredible for being only 1:18 scale. As for these two SS figures, Greedo looks great, but the helmet on the RFT doesn't look very good. The bottom edge of the rear of the helmet has an odd, downward curve in profile view, which is definitely not accurate to the screen-used helmets.

I criticize Hasbro like anybody else when they produce a less than stellar figure, or make poor decisions. But I'm also capable of acknowledging when they make something exceptional, and can give them proper praise for it. If you're willing to write off nearly 30 years of figures as being nothing but garbage, well...I think that just speaks more to your narrow-minded views than it does to any fault of Hasbro. I could point out several of Stan Solo's figures that I personally think look less than good, but even I'm not dense enough to make the blanket statement that all of his stuff is junk.
