Sean Wainui (pronounced Y-newie). Stan was 2009 Australian Idol winner, he had his struggles with a strict diet change since undergoing stomach removal surgery in September 2017. He had the life-changing procedure after being diagnosed with the rare cancer-causing gene CDH1 which runs in his family and has claimed the lives of 25 of his relatives. Stan performed ‘his single "Bigger" in Te Reo Māori TUA ft Ibanez Maeva (Stan's niece) kzbin.info/www/bejne/apu8kGtqrq-dgKM After listening to Stan's cover of Ultralight Beam, then hearing the original by Kanye for the first time. That only re-enforced why I don't listen to Kanye's music. Stan's vocals are undeniable, powerful, clear and his range is phenomenal. Arguably NZ premier male vocalist. This song was performed at Parachute Studios in NZ, the Backing Group are "The Standard" members Ani Nuku, Lilo Asiata, Nathan Peseta, and the Session Band is "The Levites" made up of Christmas Ropati (Guitar) and the Nansen brothers Ross (Drums), Jacob (Keyboard) and Junior (Bass) have worked with many Kiwi artists and done a series of songs with Stan. Checkout - Don't Dream It's Over, Amazing Grace, New Light, Inside Out or his solo music Black Box, Take It Easy, New Takeover, Pillow Talk, Aotearoa, Thank You, Choose ft Hamo Dell, Don't Worry Baby, Come Back Home, Tennessee Whiskey etc. Some other Kiwi artists that are right in your wheelhouse. House Of Shem (Thinking About You), Sons Of Zion (Love On The Run) Fat Freddy's Drop (The Best Live Performance), Six60 (Lost ft Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra on Vimeo, Forever, Only To Be, Bitter End, Don't Forget Your Roots, Rest Of Yo, Up There, Closer), L.A.B (Studio performances Roundhead/Massey) - In The Air, My Brother, Natural, Fashion Dread, Yes I Do, Mr Reggae, Proud Man & Ain't No Use live at One Love 2021) Aaradhna (Forever Love, Brown Girl), TEEKS (If Only, Never Be Apart, Waves, First Time) etc TJ Toatua (Let's Stay Together) NZ music is a fusion of Soul, R&B, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Gospel, Rock, Reggae wrapped in our Indigenous rhythms where the music is all about the VIBE, Enjoy your journey down New Zealand's rabbit hole.

Thanks for this. I really appreciate the thought-out comment. I will definitely look into those other recommendations.

@@zack_reacts No worries, Coming from a geographically isolated island in the middle of the Pacific, NZ music doesn't get a lot of exposure Outside of Oceania/Australasia so this is my way of supporting our Kiwi artists and sharing their talent with the rest of the world.

Yeaaaa... Stan's most recent album, All In, is GREAT! Especially, 'If You Love Me', which is a brilliant and unique song about climate change. Also 'Never Be Alone'! Good stuff. ❤

I love how you react with all honesty and no filter lol. I definitely think that Stan Walker and the Levites killed Kanye West's song, and made it 100% better than the original in this cover 🔥

Hawaiians and Maori are very closely related, in that both peoples claim to come from the island of Hawaiki. The languages are very similar: one example is aloha (a welcome) in Hawaiian, and aroha (love) in Maori. Also each area has its own bird with a curved beak - a Hawaiian i’iwi and a Maori kiwi.

Go and listen to the original version by Kanye. He didn't mention the BLM movement. Stan added the part about Black lives matter because he's empathetic to the oppression of Black people. I know that people from New Zealand are referred to as "Kiwi," but I'm pretty sure that I watched an interview with Stan saying that he's Maori instead of Kiwi.
@cj8172 Жыл бұрын
The BLM part was saying black lives matter but was also saying all lives matter. Stan is a Christian.

You need to adjust your sound levels .I could hear your voice loud and clear but could hardly hear the music you were reviewing. Maybe for some reason thats the way you like to do it ,but it makes it difficult if you don't know the song well.
