@@GIN.356.A What? Federer's forehand is one of the best ever in the terms of speed and power. Wawrink has a semi Western grip and he doesn't hit as flat as Roger. That's why Stan is better on clay.

@@federicoinnocente Roger has a better forehand, but Stan hits it bigger. Roger in the mid noughties had a lot of power, but overall the best attribute to Roger's forehand is his precision and variation. Stan hits a bigger and heavier ball with more topspin, but it doesn't mean it's better in a match.

@@GIN.356.A False, Fed hits a more heavier and powerful forehand than Stan, who even with a semi western grip hits a flatter ball, just like Medvedev and Djokovic. Fed, on the other hand, even with the eastern grip, hits with a ton of spin (read heavy) and naturally flatter ball because of his grip.

You have to stand behind the baseline to give yourself time to swing and not be late if the ball goes deep or lands on baseline they can still handle that ball with ease

One gripe of mine is how much of the high quality slo mo footage is from the practice court...is that because of rights issues or it’s just easier to get closer on the practice court? The real art of what these guys do is not how they hit the ball up the middle but how they improvise their strokes in the moment when real stakes are on the line...just complaining into the void

Technically I don’t think there’s any thing all that spectacular about Novak’s forehand but when you watch him mold the form and the timing to fit the moment that’s when he really shines

Feds for grass and hardcourt as it's a short swing and he can take it very early, nadal for clay as he has more time.

Love Tennis thiem, he can generate huge rpms that trouble opponents on clay, and can also shorten his swing and be more compact on faster surfaces while still ripping the hall accurately
