Thank you for sharing your video. It taught me a lot I have a truck With a 6.9 idea in it. I'm having the same trouble with it. It had set for 12 years. Thanks again for your Is sharing your video.

Thank you 🙏💯 I look so hard for videos like this and rarely succeed, your explanations are exceptional to say the least. Thank you for taking the time.

Post 1992 are 6.5. Has the timing device on #1 outlet. They are very simple inlet metering distributor IP. Transfer pump is correct, the pressure produced increases with increasing engine speed, this offsets plunger charging time that decreases with RPM. The opposing plungers are in the rotor, turning at half engine speed. The cam ring is fixed by the dynamic timing adjust mechanism, as the rotor turns, cam lobes causes plungers to pressurize fuel. Discharge to the correct cylinder is performed by a slot in the rotor aligning with the correct outlet. Just like a spark ignition distributor. Dynamic timing is adjusted hydraulically by Transfer pump pressure. There is a throttle shaft cam and lever which lowers the back pressure on the dynamic timing piston with light throttle position. Yes, metering valves stick, this with the plungers are the two precision fits that cause trouble.

I was wondering why that one outlet had what looked like an adapter on it. How does that timing device work? Is there a GM service tool that couples to it?

@@stevewatr Stanadyne Time Trac. Not worth it as ignition is delayed after injection. Higher cetane index fuels have lower delay by definition, each engine has its own delay pattern. I'm old school and do final timing by ear, be it a gasoline or diesel. On the DB2 pump, the light load advance button will cause a 4 to 6 degree advance when fully depressed. If the warm engine stumbles at idle when this button is pressed, timing is about perfect. If the idle improves, more advance will help.

@@keithjurena9319 Thanks Keith. I already did a seat of the pants timing on it using the method of depressing the advance button that you describe. I will probably do it again when I have it running enough to get truly up to temp. Next video will show my timing attempt. Coming soon.

I can't even imagine designing something like this. It's not the most complicated thing I've ever seen, but it's also not the simplest things either. There's a lot going on in a small space.

HI, We had to change the O ring on the throttle control.... put it back in but will not start, any advice?
@stevewatr9 ай бұрын
Move the throttle with the cover off and make sure the internal parts are moving as they should. One time I accidentally had a lever in the wrong position so the rack was not actuating the tiny fuel lever under it.

The fuel is injected into a pre cup not directly into the cylinder
