Awesome Mechanical Talent You Have... I also took a quick tour of your other Videos demonstrating your massive mechanic skill-set, and we DIY'ers very much appreciate you sharing your knowledge!!! This is exactly what we needed to tackle my father In-laws JD350 Dozer's Injector pump rebuild to keep it original, as he purchased it new in 1968 and currently has only put 2350 hrs on it. This will also be the first time his Dozer needed to have its injector pump rebuilt.

This was amazing, I was told 35 years ago you can't do it this way and for 35 years I thought it could not be done. UNTIL I watched you do it, I went out and did it myself and it worked just like you said it would. I could have saved myself 1000's over the years if I were just willing to take that first step and learn how it worked and been willing to fail once or twice to learn how to make it work. I guess what it all boils down to is if a man can build it a man can learn how to fix it. Great video THANKS!

When i rebuilt my pump I didn't use the special fixture for setting maximum plunger travel I just used a rubber tip blow gun on the metering valve hole if I remember right and then turn the rotor to line the ports up with pump head to push the plungers out and set it with a micrometer. Just discovered your channel I like your videos keep it up!

My brother and I took the CAV pump off his loader tractor to change the front seal we phoned the injection shop first to see if they had a kit and they did. When we got there he wasn’t going to sell us a kit he said he didn’t make any money selling kits, he was charging $500 to put a kit in and it usually took a week. Great to see that start it runs really good.

Can anyone tell me if all the rebuild kits fit all the DB2s? I've tried to look mine up but was unable to find it by model number.

As best as I could tell their is only one style of kit for all the DB style pumps. You get a ton of seals and washers but only use part of them. Makes it a bit confusing.

Bought a 450c dozer. Pump is throwing bits into the check valve. Took out the valves innards so the bits would flow through and runs fine but I gotta fix it. Deere dealer wants $2000 and I laughed. They send them to Canada. But there’s a shortage of these so she found one and would take a few days to ship, but I’ll be doing this myself. Thanks Warren.

Excellent job!! I have a DBG and the tranfer pump liner won't come out. The part around the vanes. Now...this was a dirty pump with lots of rust. If it was cleaner I would not mess with this but all the passages look dirty. So it needs to come apart to be properly cleaned. How do I get a hold of you? I'm the type of guy who would happily pay you for a little bit of your time. I'm wondering if it is similar to an ingersoll rand 231 impact wrench where the body of the impact wrench has to be heated up to release the vane liner.....................never mind. It finally came out. The entire pump looks like it was full of water at one time. Everything internally was stuck. The plungers took a ton of work. The passage way was rusted at each end. I filed until they would move as freely as I could get them. Even with that effort one end is still too stiff really but the plungers do move. I'm going with that.

Thinking about it, I believe you are viewing on Netflix and the Vietnam documentary might not be available there yet. If that is the case, the Ken Burns Civil War documentary should be available and is equally worth watching. Netflix usually hangs a bit behind on some of the newer releases.

I have a DB 2 on a GM 6.2 with the urethane ring that has deteriorated. It runs but when blipping the throttle, the engine dies. The engine has 21k miles on it, from 1986. I should be able to replace the parts without messing with the leaf spring screw, right? That way no calibration would be necessary. Of course all seals replaced and a good cleaning. Oh, try Diesel Mechanic in a Bottle for cleaning. It works.

Hello from the uk. Great video warren, is there anything you cant fix? your a very knowledgeable man and there isnt many folk like you around nowadays. I work on an arable farm here in east yorkshire in the uk and we have all john deers here. Where i used to work they had fendt tractors which i must admit i realy liked them do you get many fendts in the usa?
@blackseabrew5 жыл бұрын
I think I've seen one Fendt in the midwest USA(Kansas City region). John Deere is really big here but there is a substantial amount of Case equipment too. I wish AGCO sold more stuff...Massey Ferguson but I don't see any of that. Bushhog has some of the best mowing equipment and when a guy actually takes a look at their equipment they don't go green. My Dad still has his 1972 Allis Chalmers 180 with a bazillion hours on it but it faithfully plants a lot of acres every year. Also has a 1980 Ford TW-25. Speaking of there is a bit of New Holland equipment around here since we have a good dealer. We also have three Minneapolis Moline 4-Stars, 2 gas and one LP that we use for smaller stuff so we don't have to constantly hook-up/unhook equipment on the Allis.

The data plates on most of the old surplus equipment will usually give the part numbers for the technical manuals pertaining to it. It's usually a series of books, one for lube, one for the engine, one for the pump etc. I've been able to download all of the manuals in pdf format for my surplus equipment online for free. Hope this saves you some grief on the next go around.

If you suddenly get fuel in you oil after a this type of injection pump rebuild. One of the umbrella seals if not both are pinched, backwards or partially pulled back. The umbrella seals keep diesel out of the oil and oil out of the diesel. Make sure you lube those seals well during installation.
