Great choice Stormy! One of my brothers introduced me to this series of videos earlier this year but I hadn't seen this one yet. They are all amazing. Music unites us in so many ways. Thanks, Hap!!

No one is homeless. Roger Ridley has been a back up singer and recorded many times he’s world famous from Santa Monica. Grandpa Eliot is a legend in New Orleans and Clarence Becker is the top American soul singer in Europe. The concept us to bring singers together and musicians together from around the world to make music for social causes.

Don't worry he don't have any sense of humour that's why he said homeless fellows. We think at first and then said something but he said first and then think 😂 such a stupid fellow 😂😂😂

You got it, this wonderful concept of working toward unity and international understanding. The videos are always very well-made. It is a mystery to me how they find these fabulous musicians all over the world. There was nothing here from Mexico that I saw. The Twin Eagle Drum Group at 6:39 is from Zuni, an Indian Pueblo in New Mexico. It is a sad fact that many "American" citizens don't realize that New Mexico is part of the US. It is a state in the southwest part of the country, between Texas and Arizona, and has been since 1912. The New Mexico Magazine has a column called "One of our 50 is missing" where people send in their stories, such as being told such things as "we don't ship to foreign countries." I've had a few of those incidents myself. Drum groups like the one here play at pow-wows. Even a small pow-wow may have 20 or more such groups taking turns playing for the various dances. They are just called "drums" as in "What drum are you singing with?" Sorry for rambling about something that probably doesn't interest the majority, but it is a subject close to my heart, so please forgive me. 😎

This is the first Playing For Change compilation that I listened to and it was a couple of years ago. After listening to it I felt, like you expressed that it was amazing. It's like music is the thread that can connect and hold the world together. I started following some of these people after watching this and some of them look totally different now than they did back then but their sounds are still just as beautiful. Bumped into this tonight and it was a pleasure to watch again. Thanks for your reaction. Take care and be well. Peace.

Pleased that you corrected your comment. Not all street musicians are homeless, though it might be their only income. Thank you for this fantastic performance.

Originally written & sung by Ben E. King (& Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller) released in 1961. King was lead singer of The Drifters for a while. Thanks for another great reaction!
Do post more from Playing for Change. It is a feast of music from around the world, joining together artists famous and not so famous. This one was the first video I saw from Playing for Change. You will love it.

He (Roger Ridley) was the inspiration for starting the Playing For Change movement when he was discovered in Santa Monica. This was the first song they did. Sadly, he passed away not long afterward, before the movement became so widely known.

They are buskers. Not homeless. Roger (opening) is in Santa Monica, Grandpa Elliot busked in New Orleans for decades. Clarence, lived in Amsterdam and Barcelona. The rest are musical groups/ buskers from around the world. This was started by Mark, who is a sound man.

I've got to hear this! Saw where you reacted to Evanescence and I've been trying to get on your patreon page and I can't get it to upload on my phone. Amy Lee is freaking awesome and Evanescence is a great band if you get time you should react to bring me to lie because it will blow your mind to the official video. WWWHHHOOAAA! out of this freaking world and I can listen to it several times in a row and it's that pump you up kind of song. she sings like a damn powerful Angel and My Immortal is a beautiful slow saint but " BROKEN" Amy Lee and Seether is even more beautiful and the harmonies are just enough to make you melt.

Thanks, Hap.. it was interesting to hear your original interpretation that it was "about homeless people".. because it really is NOT.. (they are, as you say, for the most part.. "buskers").. Playing for Change.. is not about collecting spare money... it's about changing the concept of music to include people from around the world.. those guys are not homeless... lol.. anyway, hope you listen to more from this organization...
