One of the best love story's for the seventies, eighties, nineties and into the two thousands. The music was terrific. John's acting was super great and his dancing was the best. Just like Saturday Night Fever, Staying Alive and Pulp Fiction. He's the Fred Astair of his generation. Go John you defiantly have the moves!! And Debra Winger was a sexy little sassy cowgirl. Her acting was great and the bull ride scene was one of a kind!!! She was an up coming star in the same category as the late great Betty Davis. Debra make some more great movies. Come back to the big screen once again. I love this movie, I own it and watch it often. Thank you John and Debra for making this movie such a great success. The chemistry between you two was sizzling WOW great movie!!!!!!

it was in Pasadena , Texas, a suburb of Houston. It did exist for many years then it burned down mysteriously in the late 80's or 90's. . Rumor was it was burned down for insurance purposes by the owners. The club slowed down after the Urban Cowboy phase. there is a new version of it in dallas . NOT THE SAME~~!!!!!

Personally I thought the movie was hokey. Too many Sears cowboys for my stomach. I can't find much on the actress who played Pam. She was beautiful; I would have liked her more if she weren't Bud's boy toy. Hubby was stationed in Ft Hood, TX just 3 hours away from Gilley's. Too bad we never made it there.
