I've had my Crizal Sapphire lenses for about three years now and they're still going strong, although I need to change them not because they're not functioning properly anymore; but because my powers have changed so I need to get a new pair. Crizal Sapphire coatings are pretty expensive, but when you compare them to other standard AR coatings, you'll see that the price to quality ratio is good because they're going to last you a really long time with nearly no decrease in quality.

It really helped me understand why my new PAIR glasses with anti reflective coating & blue light protection reflect the blue light from my computer screen and cellphone. I used Zenni before, with the same features (of course not the awesome design & versatility, & quality) and got no blue reflection. I interpret for patients all day via VRI. Sad to see they can't see my eyes that well, but glad I am protected. Since I have far & near sightedness, my prescription is complicated. I need them on all day. It would be great if you evaluated this Shark Tank winner brand! Love them!

You don't need blue light filter to protect your eyes, the light of the sun itself has much more blue light, it's what keep your your day/night cycle in sync. Blue light filter is just to help you sleep better, but you have to use it only at night. And you can also turn on night shift mode on your devices and avoid bright white lights before bed.

Love this video. I just got a new prescription for my Burberry frames two days ago. My Rx is for computer/reading with blue blocking light (higher end) with anti-reflective coating. I'm on Zoom calls all day and notice there is a noticeable bad reflection on my lenses in meetings. The reflection of my laptop screen are on my lenses. After that happened, I've read online that if you are on Zoom calls all day, it's best to not have blue blocking light lenses. I have 3-4 weeks to change my mind on lenses with where I got my glasses. Do I remove the blue blocking and just get AR lenses (Crizal 360)? With my old pair with blue blocking light lenses (one version older than the new ones), I do find they help with eye strain. I get less eye fatigue. Perhaps the size of lenses in my old pair of glasses are slightly smaller that the reflection wasn't so prominent but the Burberry frame lenses are VERY noticeable as the lenses are slightly bigger. Many thanks again for your time!

Just bought a new pair of glasses (CR-39 - RT +.5 / LT +1.5) with the prevencia coating as I am on digital screens for 10 plus hours a day. Have been told to only wear plastic lens due to my prescription. I knew going in that I would have the violet reflections from the front side but I am having issues with the backside of the lens. When light hits the back of the lens I am getting JJ Abrams violet lens flare. It's mostly in my peripheral vision but it's very distracting. Have been told to give it time although I don't know how that will resolve the issue. It seems to me the back side has more violet reflections than the front. Any input would be most welcome. Thanks
@EyeInfluence6 жыл бұрын
It’s the prevencia coating. It’s for that same reason that I don’t like to wear lenses with that type of coating. You may want to look into filtering blue light on the lens level and not on the coating level. Look into Shamir Blue Zero or BluTech lenses. Those are better choices.

@@EyeInfluence Hi. I tried Gunnar Cruz glasses with the clear lens. Thanks for making such a video... You did say you are using that Crizal Alize lens but doesn't that have a green colour effect at certain angles? I'm not seeing that with yours which I really like. Was it a feature you told them not to include so as to not get that green colour? The Crizal Prevencia has a purple colour which I am not too fond of.
@EyeInfluence6 жыл бұрын
I think it has more to do with the position of my lighting than the AR itself. I try to place the lights at such an angle that it limits the amount of reflections. My coatings does have a bit of Greenish hue to it, it's just not too noticeable on the video. As for prevencia, I'm not a big fan. I own a pair and I would only suggest that for low blue light blocking computer glasses. I couldn't wear lenses with that coating all day. It had way too much color on it. Thanks for watching! Have an awesome day.

@RyanOlsen5 жыл бұрын
@@EyeInfluence I actually emailed Essilor with this question, and this is their response, "The only dishwashing liquid we recommend consumers use on their Ophthalmic Lenses is Dawn (non concentrated)." I bought a 25 oz bottle for $2.00. That should last me for a very long time. I was very surprised that they only recommended one dish soap, but I've been using it and it has been great. As far as cleaning goes, they simply said to rinse the lenses under running warm (not hot) water first (to remove any debris), rub the lenses on both sides with that particular dish soap, rinse the soap off, then dry the lenses with a microfiber cloth (like what comes with the lenses). I take this a step further by only using cold water (they still come clean), and blowing the remaining water off of the lenses (so nothing touches them). I thought it would help to post the official cleaning method recommended by that lens manufacturer.

I'm concerned it might not be good enough for my time at the computer. Have you had any friends that had it on their blue blocking lens? Can you maybe talk about it or comment on it?
@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
Correct, blue light blocking coatings all reflect blue light, they don't filter it. I have yet to find a blue light coating that I'm happy wearing all day. I'd rather have blue light filtering inside the lens.
@OgreKingMongrel5 жыл бұрын
Eye Influence they also advised of that. Of lens types that absorbed instead of reflect. For example, shamir blue zero or something like that, is built into the very lens itself. I am enjoying my new glasses so far. The recharge is helping a lot more than my previous pair, but I'm afraid I may want filtering inside the lens more than the deflect.

To be quite honest, at this point they are just about even. I wouldn’t recommend going for a blue light AR coating, instead, I would suggest looking into essilor essential blue lenses. Yes, but it depends on how often you clean your glasses and with what solution. For example, if you clean your glasses with cleaner that has alcohol, the coating will break down quickly. Soap and water is a great way to clean glasses and drying them with a microfiber cloth will reduce scratching. Durability will also depend on the quality of coating. Crizal Sapphire should last 2-3 years without noticeable deterioration. Other brands like Zeiss and Shamir also make high end, and very durable, coatings.

It looks like the Crizal Sapphire is available to you in India so you may want to also look into that coating since it's the best available. Hope this helps. Thanks for the support.

Eye Influence Thank you! Really love your vids because people don’t usually get this much information. One last question. Maybe I’m too paranoid, but how do I know that I get the coating I paid for? What if the shop give me cheap AR when I paid for premium? Thank you very much

I've wondered why some people's glasses reflect green while the others reflect purple. Especially in this age of Zoom, when long meetings are spent staring at others on a computer.

What kind of AR did you get? There are some low quality coatings (like those from costco) that will always give you trouble.

Does Lenscrafters carry Crizal?
@EyeInfluence6 жыл бұрын
Not at the moment. But LensCrafters just merged with Crizal‘ a parent company, Essilor, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they offered it soon.

@Sidg25 жыл бұрын
Hi. my age is 26 (Male) from India. My distance vision error is -0.75 . I going to wear glasses first time. I have to wear glasses for full day. I am studying. Also, like every person I use mobile, laptop and watch TV. These are my requirments:- 1. I want clear visibility, sharp and natural colours like which we get from healthy naked eyes but I don't want yellow or blue or green hue/ tint. 2. I want glasses which are highly Scratch-Resistant, Anti-Reflective, Anti-Dust & Anti-Smudge and last longer life. First i had decided to buy crizal Prevencia lens but then I read online that it has bit yellowish hue/tint, so i cancelled it. So, please suggest me which lens should I buy Crizal Sapphire 360 UV 1.56 index or Ziess DuraVision Platinum 1.56 index or any other model? (It Should be branded but not be very costly).

They're all very good. The more important thing is to keep them clean.
