Thanks a lot both for your excellent book which I got from lulu.com a few weeks ago as well as your instructive videos! Both together make an excellent course for beginners! I am thoroughly enjoying just listening to your play and explanations as well as going through it with my guqin.

following the book, for me, I'd hard since I don't know how it is supposed to sound. this video was very helpful. :-)

Aktually went on ahead and bought a guqin and your book. In the book the notation is much better readable. A great combination!

@Shufei It's the same, as the design is intended that you sing to confirm your pitch played. (This is a tuning piece!) Sadly, I did not teach the lyrics in my book, partially out of language concerns (my book aimed at non-Chinese speakers), and lack of space.

My bad. The characters 再乍 would be obvious to most Chinese readers, but I took that for granted. It is "再作", or lit. "Do again", so repeat the section (2 notes) previous.

Nope. This is a Cijun shape. Cijun is the euphemistic (?) reference to bamboo ("This gentleman/junzi"), hence should be translated as "bamboo-section shape".
