I have no idea how I ended up here, but I am now a fan of Off the Great Wall. You know how it goes...you look up something on purpose and a channel recommends something else, which recommends something else and next thing you go from watching The Voice from two years back to listening to the history of Guqin. I am rarely surprised, but I was taken aback by the pictures and video footage of Asian type segregation. I understand about class wars or shaming, but actually seeing it I felt upset people of any kind do this to one another. So I learned something I never knew happened. Gave me a greater respect for the Chinese history. I admire the dedication and control. Thank you Off the Great Wall!!

Legend has it that the qin, the most revered of all Chinese musical instruments, #Wiki... has a history of about 5,000 years, and that the legendary figures of China's pre-history - Fuxi, Shennong and Huang Di, the "Yellow Emperor" - were involved in its creation. Nearly all qin books and tablature collections published prior to the twentieth century state this as the actual origins of the qin,[5] although this is now viewed as mythology. It is mentioned in Chinese writings dating back nearly 3,000 years, and examples have been found in tombs from about 2,500 years ago. So much of the Han Chinese heritage was lost during 1960's. How I wish it didn't happen and the materials/culture/traditions were preserved. Sigh. We are only left with fragments of it today. P.S. I spy the lady having a beautiful set of Hanfu in the background. Heh.
